I’m In Awe Of TSM4 BETA

It’s been a very chaotic few weeks, so I’ve not blogged much up until today. I’m currently sorting out my new website, which will go into greater detail of my day to day activities concerning gold-making in World of Warcraft. Added to this, I recently got invited to the new TSM 4.10 BETA wave, and (to rub salt in the wounds), I inadvertently got invited to Shadowlands BETA too. I hope to have the new website up and running in the next week or so. Due to time restraints, I cannot participate in the Shadowlands BETA, but I’ve decided to take advantage of TSM’s 4.10 Beta instead, as reviewed below.

TSM4.10 BETA

Themes, Dashboard & Ledger:

TSM BETA BLOG

As soon as you’ve successfully installed and loaded up the game, the first thing you’ll notice is the new sleek look of TSM. Within the settings (Appearance), we can customize this further by changing the themes; this, in my opinion, is an excellent addition. Some of the colors appear strange, but this could be my filters within the game, as I’m colorblind. As you’ll see above, the graph is a lot easier on the eyes, and from what I’ve read up, the information obtained for the dashboard and ledger is a lot more accurate now than the previous TSM version. We can change the timeframe within the graphs, to give us a detailed look at our profit and losses.

Opinion: Excellent addition. Even with colorblindness, some of the themes are excellent. Tell me a gold-maker that doesn’t want to see graphs outlining their progress!

Groups, Operations & Search Feature:

TSM BETA BLOG 1

When creating a new group and searching for items, it’s never been easier. We can effortlessly move and adjust our groups, and the new base group gives us the ability to search for new items by inputting search conditions into the box, as I’ve highlighted above. For example purposes, I used the search function to look for Battle Pets. As you can see, this returned all the battle pets I currently don’t have assigned to a group.

Adding and adjusting operations to groups is a lot easier too. We now get a search box pop-up when adding or changing operations to a group. Instead of needlessly scrolling through all the operations, we can use the search function instead and promptly assign an operation we desire. If you head over to the operations tab, you will also see all the groups assigned to a given operation.

Opinion: As I’m sure you’re aware, I love creating groups with plenty of sub-groups, the ability to keep them up-to-date by adding new items when added to the game, will no doubt be a game-changer. The ease of doing all this will allow many to create their very own profiles!

Shopping & TSM Sniper:

Browsing the Auction House has also had some improvements. The ability to pause and purchase items during a scan, so you don’t miss out on lucrative deals now. We also have the addition to buy items in bulk. Again, as shown above, you can see on the right, we can now select buyout on items, and we’ll get a pop-up that allows us to buy a more significant quantity. Before TSM 4.10 this was only achievable via the wow’s default user interface.

You will also notice above that there’s a return of TSM Sniper. However, I’ve not used this myself yet! But I’m sure many will be happy with its return.

Opinion: For me, the most significant change was the ability to finally buy bulk quantities of items, without unnecessarily needing to use the wow ui instead. Others will undoubtedly rejoice at the return of sniper, and understandably so.

Change Log & Sources Explained

For a detailed summary of the changes with TSM 4.10 BETA please check out TSM’s change log.

With the addition of new price sources and the removal of (Use Smart Average), I urge anyone to check out TSM’s price source guides below. These will help you understand and maybe create your own price sources. Creating your own price sources will give you the edge on your competitors when posting your auctions on to the Auction House.

New complete Battle Pet Import String

Before I leave, I’d like to add, that the battle pet import string created/shared by @Billisonyxia on Twitter, has been updated by myself, by removing the non-existent common and uncommon battle pets within his list. I used warcraftpets to cross-reference the pets that weren’t obtainable. I have added this complete list to my Pastebin. Please can you show your support to Bilis, by checking out the links below to show your appreciation for the original content!

Original Import String: Reddit Post
BilisOnyxia’s Patreon

The update has every battle pet, sorted by;

  1. Rare
  2. Uncommon
  3. Common
  4. Grey (Ignored Variation) (Ignores level, breed & rarity)

Important: Please read first!

If you want to buy and sell pets based on their level and rarity, DO NOT assign operations to option 4: Grey (Ignored Variation) group. Instead, apply your operations to options 1, 2, 3.

If you have absolutely no interest in the pets level or rarity and want to flip it, assign operations to option 4: Grey (Ignored Variation) group and DO NOT apply operations to the first 3 options. Failure to follow these steps will incur issues when shopping and posting pets on the Auction House.

Further Clarification:
Option 4: These are the default pet item ID’s that will ignore level, breed, and rarity.

Please back-up your current profile before importing, in case of any issues. I have successfully imported this, with no issues. However, if you do experience any issues, or you would like to offer some feedback, please feel free to contact me: grahranswowgold@gmail.com and I will respond at the earliest convenience.

I hope you enjoyed this post. With any luck, you’ll hear from me again within the week, promoting my new website.

Darkmoon Trinket Buff! 20/08/18

Just in case you’ve missed it, there’s been a recent hotfix to Darkmoon trinkets, increasing their stats. This will make some of these, POSSIBLY BiS before raid content arrives. Now you probably won’t think too much of this, but consider the people who cashed in on all this, last night, when this was first revealed!

There were Darkmoon Deck: Squalls selling at 38k on my realm, Darkmoon Deck: blockades at 64.9k, now they’ve shot up to 150k+ and raising! Some will probably settle around that area, but this all depends on the competition on your realm. I’ve bought some this afternoon at approximately 70k and reselling at 199k. I may have missed out on the big boom when the expansion released, due to levelling, but this is a decent little earner in the meantime.

So if you have some gold handy, check your auction houses and see if there’s some value for you. I’ve bought up a ton this morning/afternoon, so there’s still bargains to be had! As ever, be vigilant and to make the most out of your profit, use trade chat to bark what you’re selling, eliminates that AH fee 😉

Always check out trusted sites like The Undermine Journal which you can keep track on the realm/region prices etc for any given item on any given realm. Some prices may still have yesterdays data, so won’t come in to effect, so take that in mind.

Here’s a screenshot of the hotfix.

As The Dust settles on the Legion Pre Patch

Legion Pre-Patch:

Well, we’re finally approaching the end of another week of the new Legion Pre-Patch, and things are finally starting to settle down. I think it’s fair to say we’re slowly getting accustomed to our new class changes, the loss of stats, and the unfortunate changes to Serverhop or Cross Realm Assist. Well, if you were an avid open-world farmer, it’s not all lost, as you’ll find out later on!

My Legion Pre-Patch Hoarding Update:

When an expansion comes to an end, it’s a great time to get yourself prepared for the new expansion and, as a gold-maker, attempt to profit from those, that weren’t fortunate enough to follow suit. I’ve been swamped the last couple of weeks and can happily say I’m ready for Legion

At the end of May, my liquid gold was at approximately 3.2 million. I think I’ve invested all my gold wisely, but the full results won’t be clear until I sell my stock. According to TradeSkillMaster (TSM) the approximate value of my inventory currently stands at 25.7m.

TSM total inventory

Choosing The Right Price Source:

Now, I’m fully aware that this total can be manipulated by the ‘value price source‘ that’s input. So let me reassure you all by clarifying my custom price source below.

avg(DBRegionMarketAvg, DBGlobalMarketAvg, TUJGlobalMedian, DBRegionHistorical, DBGlobalHistorical)

You’ll see that I haven’t got DBMarket as this can be manipulated from clever goblins on the server, so I don’t use this! Instead, my price string is influenced by average Region and Global prices to give me an excellent average price source. This custom price source is similar to Mankind’s; if you haven’t seen his TSM videos, click HERE. They are amazing videos that help you understand everything to do with TSM, so check them out!

Investing In TCG Battle Pets:

I’ve invested much of my gold in level 25 Battle Pets (mostly very rare TCG Battle Pets). Battle Pets are an excellent investment, as they can be learned and caged, so if you’re having no luck selling on a specific realm, learn and cage them and sell on a different realm!

TCG Battle Pets are always in demand, as the Trading Cards are quite expensive, and many players would prefer to spend gold on Battle Pets rather than real money.

Battle Pets for Legion

Rare MoP Battle Pets:

I will be looking to sell the rare MoP Battle Pets asap, as MoP raids will become more accessible, thanks to Legion. Although these pets are currently challenging to obtain due to their low drop rates, the supply will rise as more people clear that content.

If you want to see updates on what I’m selling or stocking up for Legion, and get updates as they happen via my Twitter and Facebook. I’m also happy to answer any questions you may have.

If I don’t have the answer, I’m sure I may know someone who will.

ServerHop or CrossrealmAssist nerf:

Sadly there were adjustments or nerfs to the much loved ServerHop or CrossRealmAssist, which to some extent, brought new beginnings. Whether these were intended or not is another matter, but thankfully if you use these addons to farm in open-world content, you’ll be relieved to know it’s still beneficial to use them.

The devs changed it so that if you were joining a group, you had to be within the vicinity of the leader to join a player on a different realm successfully. With this change, bought the ability to ‘hyper spawn‘ mobs. If you were in a five-person group and carefully positioned, this meant that the mobs were instantly spawning as soon as you killed and looted them.

It wasn’t too long before people realized that you could form two groups of four players and go to town on specific areas for farming.

Farming Raw Materials:

For example, the materials on the Auction House,  Volatile Water,  Primal Fire have crashed, due to the amount that people are successfully farming up. The most significant success so far is the frog farm on the Timeless Isle. With  Sha Crystal so hard to come by, there’s an absolute mint to be made here! It’s also worth noting, that you don’t ignore the whelpling farms too.

Supreme Lord Kazzak:

I stopped participating in the Kazzak weekly kill for a bit of time, but it comes to my attention that it’s worthwhile again. Not only do you have the chance to loot double the  Felblight than what you got before pre-patch, but you can also loot ilvl 720 gear now, with the chance to get upgraded to Warforged or even Titanforged. I have many alts, which has given me the incentive to get them geared before Legion.

** It’s important to know, that Blizzard has prevented players below level 100 to get loot from a Kazzak kill. **

Squirt Menagerie Daily Nerfed:

As Peelyon expected, the Squirt daily got nerfed, and our beloved Weebomination is no longer of any use to us, well in the circumstances that we want to cleave the mobs and thus complete the battle quick as possible. So this means we need a workaround. Thankfully Peelyon and a user on Wowhead (Robotusch) have a solution. To view this new strategy, please follow this link.

If you’re not aware of Peelyon, be sure to check him out at Twitch. He has a wealth of knowledge on Battle pets and gold-making and writes on behalf of IcyVeins for their new gold-making forum. You can also catch me in his chat AKA GrahransWoWGold

Although I’m a poor Moderator, I’ll do my best to answer any questions you have in a bid to assist Peelyon.

That’s enough of me rambling on! Don’t forget guys, 18th (US) or 19th (EU) for the release of Demon Hunter’s; I shan’t be jumping on straight away, as I’m expecting issues and will happily watch on and continue to post auctions.

Good luck, and thanks for reading!

TradeSkillMaster Guides

Hello guys, I recently experienced some issues within TSM (TradeSkillMaster) and lost some information. I’m sure this wasn’t connected in anyway with the recent issues TSM have been experiencing, as I’m aware it was solely on the data on their drives and nothing do with our information on our end.

Upon seeking some advice or more some information from the interwebs on recreating some groups etc, I managed to stumble upon a great YouTube channel with some excellent guides, now I’m not going to be greedy and keep these to myself, instead I’ll add some details below, which maybe of interest to you. How on earth this chap has so little likes/subscribers is completely beyond me. I’ll add this blog post in a bid to help send some some traffic his way.

As ever guys, please show any appreciation for Mankind, by leaving a comment, like or even a subscribe on his YouTube channel. It means a lot to content creators, that enjoy writing, creating videos in a bid to help others.

LootAppraiser Video – How to!

Here’s a video from Wowprofitz, the creator of LootAppraiser showing you all you need to know about the wonderful addon. Be sure to leave him some feedback on his YouTube channel.

Altoholic (Addon)

Altoholic:

Today’s add-on review concerns one of the first add-ons I installed, Altoholic. The add-on could keep a considerable amount of information regarding your characters in every realm/account in one place. For someone like myself, who, for example, has approximately 200 characters across multiple realms/accounts, this is an essential and reliable add-on.

Benefits:

Here are a couple of the benefits that Altoholic offers.

Mail:

Altoholic can warn you that mail is about to expire or is due to be returned. So those days of losing mail, when they expire, are long gone.

Personal Bank – Guild Bank:

Altoholic can track all the items stored in your Personal Bank or Guild Banks on all your characters. For Altoholic to correctly collect data on items within these banks, you must regularly open your banks to update the add-on.

Item Tracker:

This feature allows you to track all the items in your inventory on all your characters. This option is now also available within TSM4.

Characters:

You can view a specific character’s equipped gearTalentsGlyphs, and Professions via the character tab.

Search:

The ability to search for something particular within your characters. Ideal if you have an item on another character but are unsure who.

Gold:

Altoholic can keep track of your Gold balance on all of your characters. This option is excellent if you have multiple realms and accounts!

Conclusion:

Today, many add-ons can offer the same as Altoholic, but individually, if you require something as an all-in-one, I suggest trying Altoholic. You can download Altoholic HERE.

I hope you found this review helpful.

LootAppraiser

LootAppraiser:

If you haven’t been fortunate enough to have heard about LootAppraiser until now and you’re an avid farmer like myself, then you’ve been missing out. LootAppraiser, in the words of the developer, Wowprofitz “making farming sexy”…lol.

The add-on uses data from TSM (i.e. DBmarket) for your item value and alerts you when you loot something significant. This can be changed to what suits you. Click here to see a video regarding the addon by Wowprofitz.

WoWProfitz:

I’ve been fortunate enough to have been able to watch some of his recent streams on Twitch and see this addon in full swing. Wowprofitz is a well-known person to many around the gold-making scene. Check out his content on his Youtube channel and Twitch channel.

Be sure to follow and subscribe to him for future updates and tips.

My Review of LootAppraiser:

Since I started using LootAppraiser, I’ve noticed that I don’t have to pay so much attention to the loot box to see what I’m looting. Instead, this marvelous add-on has an alert that pings when I loot something of value. It will also keep a running total of the potential gold made throughout the session. It also has a little stopwatch to track the total time of your current session.

For my settings, I only get notifications on items looted above 1k and that of uncommon quality or above. So if something is looted for 1k or above and is Green, Rare or Epic quality, I will get a notification.

However, looted grey items or items of no interest will be ignored as such, but the vendor value will still be in the total of gold made in the current session.

LootAppraiser in BETA:

It’s important to remember that at this stage, the addon is in the Beta phase. Wowprofitz is always looking to improve the add-on further. If it continues to improve, I can see this addon becoming an important tool for gold farmers in World of Warcraft.

Thanks for reading, guys, and don’t forget to share some love with the developer Wowprofits. Be sure to post your epic loot below!
