Garrison Followers:

To assist you with the day-to-day running of your Garrison, you can find and enlist Followers to do many things within your Garrison. Mainly, you will want your Garrison Followers to complete Missions from the Garrison Mission Table or assign them to your buildings if they have the required trait.

Garrison Buildings:

Assuming you’ve unlocked your level 3 Garrison and completed the Achievement: More Work Orders, these are the Garrison buildings you want. The number in brackets is the level required for your building. The only exception is the Mines; If you want to farm ore and the Mine Carts, I suggest getting level 3. Alternatively, I ignore this.

Medallion of the Legion

I’m sure many of you remember the awful start we experienced on the release of Warlords of Draenor (WoD) and the inability to access the Dark Portal, and, later on in the night, the inability to access the starter quest to build our Garrisons. Once the developers ironed out the issues, it quickly became apparent how essential Garrisons would be in WoD and the wealth of things it would offer, most notably, the Medallion of the Legion!

As the expansion progressed, it wasn’t too long before players were aware of the mission table’s potential, and before you knew it, they were min-maxing their followers and traits, taking full advantage of the encounters available to them. The gold missions were insane, and the mission table gave us an alternative method to obtain raid loot. Still, an excellent addition was a mission that gave us another option to acquire the Medallion of Legion.

What is a Medallion of the Legion:

The Medallion of the Legion is an item that can be purchased from other players, looted via rares or acquired by completing a specific mission at the mission table. Upon consuming this Medallion, you will receive 1000 reputation with the denizens of Draenor.

Important: If you own a level 3 Trading Post and you’re situated within Draenor, once you consume the Medallion, you will receive a 20% bonus (if the Darkmoon Faire is in town, get the Whee! buff for an additional 10% bonus). The Sign of Iron buff from WoD Timewalking which rewards 50% reputation gains does not affect the Medallion of the Legion.

The Denizens of Draenor:

Once you consume your Medallion of the Legion, you will receive 1000 reputation to all these factions also known as the Denizens of Draenor. [A] Alliance Faction – [H] Horde Faction.

Due to the removal of the battleground Ashran in 8.0, it is no longer possible to gain 1000 rep for Wrynn’s Vanguard and Vol’jin’s Spear when consuming a Medallion of the Legion. Source: WowheadSklixe

Ashran has since been reworked and released, but I’m unsure whether the limitations mentioned above are still an issue!

Why Should I Max My Denizens Reputations?

Locked behind the Denizens of Draenor are Companion Pets/Battle Pets, Followers, and Mounts. You will need Revered and Exalted to meet these requirements. An image below, outlining the reputation requirements to purchase items from the Council of Exarchs.

How to Obtain a Medallion of the Legion:

The Medallion of the Legion is a reward for killing and looting four rares within Tanaan Jungle; these rares had between an 18-19% chance to drop a Medallion. These rares were hugely popular due to players also farming Fel-Corrupted Apexis Fragment – you should only kill these rares once per day, per character; any more than once, and you’ll not receive any loot.

The Rares:

Here is a handy script that will inform you if you’ve already defeated the rare for today. Please enter it in the chatbox; it will inform you if you’ve conquered that rare for today. Source: Wowheadslybootz

/run for k,v in pairs({deathtalon=39287, terrorfist=39288, doomroller=39289, vengeance=39290}) do print(format("%s: %s", k, IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(v) and "\124cFFFF0000Completed\124r" or "\124cFF00FF00Not completed yet\124r")) end

Eldritch Horrors:

As WoD progressed, the developers added a mission table encounter called Eldritch Horrors in patch 6.2. Upon completing this encounter, it rewarded players with a Medallion of the Legion.

Buying and Selling Medallion of the Legion:

If you’ve maxed out your reputations with the denizens of Draenor and have no use for them, you can post them on the Auction House. During WoD, the average price was 15k per Medallion; as WoD came to an end and the release of Legion, the price skyrocketed to 30k. Sadly, as the expansions have come and gone, so has a lot of its value. But don’t let that put you off. You can still find Medallions for approximately 1-2k gold each and can flip these between 4-7k each (Region/Realm dependant)

The Undermine Journal (TUJ) Region Median Prices.

Recent Sale:

From my Tweet dated: 12/03/2021

Conclusion:

Although we’re in Shadowlands now, and WoD was almost seven years ago, don’t be fooled into thinking the Medallion of the Legion are of no interest anymore. I sell these regularly on the Auction House between 4-7k gold each. Players who have recently started/restarted playing World of Warcraft may try to catch up with their reputations or collect missing pets and mounts locked behind reputation requirements. The Medallions are a cheap and efficient method for players to catch up, and it’s this that gives them their current value.

If you find any errors in this post, or wish to add anything I’ve missed, please post within the comment section below and I’ll update my post where necessary. I’ve credited where information was shared by other authors. As ever, thank you to Wowhead for use of their Medallion of the Legion image, data, links, etc.

As The Dust settles on the Legion Pre Patch

Legion Pre-Patch:

Well, we’re finally approaching the end of another week of the new Legion Pre-Patch, and things are finally starting to settle down. I think it’s fair to say we’re slowly getting accustomed to our new class changes, the loss of stats, and the unfortunate changes to Serverhop or Cross Realm Assist. Well, if you were an avid open-world farmer, it’s not all lost, as you’ll find out later on!

My Legion Pre-Patch Hoarding Update:

When an expansion comes to an end, it’s a great time to get yourself prepared for the new expansion and, as a gold-maker, attempt to profit from those, that weren’t fortunate enough to follow suit. I’ve been swamped the last couple of weeks and can happily say I’m ready for Legion

At the end of May, my liquid gold was at approximately 3.2 million. I think I’ve invested all my gold wisely, but the full results won’t be clear until I sell my stock. According to TradeSkillMaster (TSM) the approximate value of my inventory currently stands at 25.7m.

TSM total inventory

Choosing The Right Price Source:

Now, I’m fully aware that this total can be manipulated by the ‘value price source‘ that’s input. So let me reassure you all by clarifying my custom price source below.

avg(DBRegionMarketAvg, DBGlobalMarketAvg, TUJGlobalMedian, DBRegionHistorical, DBGlobalHistorical)

You’ll see that I haven’t got DBMarket as this can be manipulated from clever goblins on the server, so I don’t use this! Instead, my price string is influenced by average Region and Global prices to give me an excellent average price source. This custom price source is similar to Mankind’s; if you haven’t seen his TSM videos, click HERE. They are amazing videos that help you understand everything to do with TSM, so check them out!

Investing In TCG Battle Pets:

I’ve invested much of my gold in level 25 Battle Pets (mostly very rare TCG Battle Pets). Battle Pets are an excellent investment, as they can be learned and caged, so if you’re having no luck selling on a specific realm, learn and cage them and sell on a different realm!

TCG Battle Pets are always in demand, as the Trading Cards are quite expensive, and many players would prefer to spend gold on Battle Pets rather than real money.

Battle Pets for Legion

Rare MoP Battle Pets:

I will be looking to sell the rare MoP Battle Pets asap, as MoP raids will become more accessible, thanks to Legion. Although these pets are currently challenging to obtain due to their low drop rates, the supply will rise as more people clear that content.

If you want to see updates on what I’m selling or stocking up for Legion, and get updates as they happen via my Twitter and Facebook. I’m also happy to answer any questions you may have.

If I don’t have the answer, I’m sure I may know someone who will.

ServerHop or CrossrealmAssist nerf:

Sadly there were adjustments or nerfs to the much loved ServerHop or CrossRealmAssist, which to some extent, brought new beginnings. Whether these were intended or not is another matter, but thankfully if you use these addons to farm in open-world content, you’ll be relieved to know it’s still beneficial to use them.

The devs changed it so that if you were joining a group, you had to be within the vicinity of the leader to join a player on a different realm successfully. With this change, bought the ability to ‘hyper spawn‘ mobs. If you were in a five-person group and carefully positioned, this meant that the mobs were instantly spawning as soon as you killed and looted them.

It wasn’t too long before people realized that you could form two groups of four players and go to town on specific areas for farming.

Farming Raw Materials:

For example, the materials on the Auction House,  Volatile Water,  Primal Fire have crashed, due to the amount that people are successfully farming up. The most significant success so far is the frog farm on the Timeless Isle. With  Sha Crystal so hard to come by, there’s an absolute mint to be made here! It’s also worth noting, that you don’t ignore the whelpling farms too.

Supreme Lord Kazzak:

I stopped participating in the Kazzak weekly kill for a bit of time, but it comes to my attention that it’s worthwhile again. Not only do you have the chance to loot double the  Felblight than what you got before pre-patch, but you can also loot ilvl 720 gear now, with the chance to get upgraded to Warforged or even Titanforged. I have many alts, which has given me the incentive to get them geared before Legion.

** It’s important to know, that Blizzard has prevented players below level 100 to get loot from a Kazzak kill. **

Squirt Menagerie Daily Nerfed:

As Peelyon expected, the Squirt daily got nerfed, and our beloved Weebomination is no longer of any use to us, well in the circumstances that we want to cleave the mobs and thus complete the battle quick as possible. So this means we need a workaround. Thankfully Peelyon and a user on Wowhead (Robotusch) have a solution. To view this new strategy, please follow this link.

If you’re not aware of Peelyon, be sure to check him out at Twitch. He has a wealth of knowledge on Battle pets and gold-making and writes on behalf of IcyVeins for their new gold-making forum. You can also catch me in his chat AKA GrahransWoWGold

Although I’m a poor Moderator, I’ll do my best to answer any questions you have in a bid to assist Peelyon.

That’s enough of me rambling on! Don’t forget guys, 18th (US) or 19th (EU) for the release of Demon Hunter’s; I shan’t be jumping on straight away, as I’m expecting issues and will happily watch on and continue to post auctions.

Good luck, and thanks for reading!

Tome of Illusions

As we all know by now, we have the Wardrobe system coming to Legion, bringing us the freedom to swap in and out collected armour and weapons alternatively called Transmog which we’ve collected on our travels. A new direction from the developers, is the introduction of the Tome of Illusions, which will work via the wardrobe system too, but will give us the freedom to add an appropriate enchant effect to our weapons and change it when we desire. You’ll know that we already have this opportunity for illusions already, via the Enchanter’s building in our Garrisons in Warlords of Draenor, sadly, these are not permanent, but those in Legion will be!

The Tome of Illusions will be created by Enchanters, using materials from the region that matches the illusion you desire. For instance, if you wanted the Tome of Northrend, you’d need to acquire the materials that would be gathered within Northrend or the Wrath of the Lich king expansion.  I will add below, each Tome and the materials needed to craft each one.

If you want any advice, start buying up these materials from the Auction House NOW! People are clearing out banks, guild banks, ready to start preparing for Legion and that normally involves materials that people find are not wanted anymore. We need to take advantage of these cheap sales and stock these items up so we can get an early push once Legion is released.

TSM3 Import String

I suggest creating a new TSM Profile to limit any chance of ruining any groups you may have created already. If you’re not a TSM3 subscriber, then I also urge you to backup your TSM. This is automatic if you’re a subscriber.

Stocking Up For Legion – Battle Pets & Mounts

ruby droplet

With Legion on the horizon and the possibility of access to the expansion, as early as the end of June, many people including myself have gone into cleaning mode. This entails sorting through Guild banks, personal banks, bags and alts selling/deleting items we regard as useless to free up space in readiness for stockpiling. With every expansion there’s a need to invest in your hard-earned gold and beat that inflation.

It’s important to remember that when stockpiling items ready for the next expansion, no one really knows the full effects until Legion is here. If you look back prior to the release of Cataclysm, so much was taken from the game, that a lot of items became unobtainable or deleted and caught many off guard. It was difficult to guess what was going to be lucrative and what was going to be junk! So to make stockpiling work for us and beat the inflation, we need to guess what will be lucrative to us in Legion and start stockpiling it. When Legion hits, we then start selling our stock, thus (hopefully) beating inflation.

Something to keep in mind, not only will there be a resurgence of old players returning to Legion that unsubbed, but there will also be an influx of new players, thanks to the movie Warcraft. There is also rumours circulating that Blizzard may incorporate a World of Warcraft game per ticket purchased to the movie. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but as soon as I know, I’ll update on my blog.

Obviously people will have a difference in opinion and as ever, I welcome you to post your views or questions below or drop me a tweet via twitter.

Battle Pets

TGC – Trading Card Game: It’s difficult not to start with TCG pets. The obvious reason being, that they’re always going to hold value, unless they’re duped. At the moment, TCG pets seem to be stable on EU realms. You can buy the low-end pets (i.e. Ethereal Soul-Trader) for as little as 95-100k and the top end (Rocket Chicken) at approximately 350k. Each realm differs in price, so shop around to find the best deals.

Darkmoon Faire: With many people using their tokens to buy Replica Transmog gear, these pets will fall in numbers. I’m buying these up as quick as I see them. The pets normally average around the 4k mark. You may have to spend a little more if they’ve been leveled to 25.

Holiday Events: With so many people returning to Legion, many will have missed the holiday events, so I’ve been stockpiling these already. I’ve also been purchasing them from the auction house too if the price is right. There are a number of events coming up soon, so be sure to stock up where possible. Lantern’s from the Lunar Festival are excellent examples.

Warlords Rep: This is a tough one, but I think there’s merit in including this one. The Saberstalker’s pet Savage Cub, proves it’s worthwhile to stock these. Costs 1500  Blackfang Claw who in their right mind is going to want to grind that come legion?!

Garrison*: Now here comes a tricky one. The only pets I’m looking at stocking up on, are those from the Menagerie, via the Pet Charms and the Land Shark, from Nat Pagle. The reason for the asterisk, is the other pets, I have no interest in as the Auction House is flooded with them as indicated below.

Timeless Isle: I still find these pets a great investment. Ruby Droplet for example. They have extremely low drop rates and people will be interested in doing other things than sit around waiting for pets to drop.

Rare Battle Pets: These pets will always be a good investment. The best example I could give for this, that people may have overlooked is the Red Goren Egg. Although you can only have one in your inventory at any one time, don’t let that put you off. You can either learn it and cage it, or take the daunting task of moving them one by one from your mail box to your Guild bank. The reason I urge you to stockpile these, is the fact that it’s an extremely low drop rate at 0.3% from Mining and you only have to venture to Wowhead to see how many people are complaining about it.

Battle Pets I’m Ignoring

Garrison*: As mentioned above, there’s some Garrison pets I’d suggest ignoring. The Left Shark and the Cinder Pup. These have been heavily posted on the Auction House due to high supply and low demand for extremely low buyouts. Can be considered a safe option as losses will be considerably low. Again this is my opinion, you may have an alternative one and look to buy these.

Raids: MoP Raids will be easily solo-able in Legion, meaning accessibility to pets will be easier. Pets like Son of Animus which were a pretty penny, will sadly drop in value.

Mounts

Collecting:
TCG Mounts:
Again I start with TCG and again for the obvious reasons. These sell extremely well and hold their value as long as there’s no duping. Currently the mounts are extremely high, but if you manage to snipe one, dont be put off by stocking it till Legion, to get more value!

Coalfist Gronnling:
This is a viable option, due to only getting this via Garrison Missions. I’m not sure at this early stage how Garrison’s will work in Legion, if they’ll even work at all, but I think these are a safe bet.

Holiday Events: Mounts from Holiday events are good options if the price is right. For example Swift Lovebird. People will have missed these. They average 18k, so if you see them lower than that, definitely consider buying a couple.

Profession Mounts: These are always viable to stockpile. For example the Vial of the Sands. Has been selling very well and that’s mainly down to the materials needed to craft one. Be careful for dupes though, especially with the Jewelcrafting mounts.

Not Collecting:
Garn Nighthowl
and any other mount that is heavily farmed in WoD, I will be ignoring! The prices for these on the auction house are approximately 2-4k and I doubt they will go up, considering how many people out there farming them already. Farming them will be made easier too, when players are level 110 come legion!

This is just a couple of things to consider. Obviously I’m not going to disclose all the pets and mounts, as some I want to keep to myself, you know how it is…lol. But I hope that this post can give you some inspiration and what pets and mounts to stockpile. Please remember prices are a guide from my server, each server differs from one to another. I also appreciate that you will have different opinions to mine set out above, if you do, again I welcome you to comment below. Maybe you have ideas to share, feel free to post too.

I hope you enjoyed my post and look forward to seeing you all again soon. Thanks for reading!

Things To Do Before Legion

Sadly, the run up to any rLegionLogo_lessglowelease to a new expansion is always a long and drawn out process, with the lack of new content and things to do. The introduction of Legion, will be a longer wait than the release of any previous expansion. But if you’re willing to read this first installment, you’ll find plenty of things to occupy you until Legion finally hits and hopefully prevent you from cancelling your subscription.

PvP:

With the introduction of Season 3, everyone will be keen to gear up again. Dont worry if you’ve not done any PvP in Seasons 1 and 2, as all gear whether PvP/PvE will get boosted to 715 ilvl (15 ilvl below Gladiator gear from Season 2) in Season 3 whilst within a Battleground, Arena or Ashran. This helps close the gaps for new players. However, always remember ilvl is just a guide of your gear, it isnt the important factor, you’ll need to concentrate on the stat priority for your class in PvP, to reap the full rewards of your gear.

Ashran can be an excellent way to gear up, if you have the patients. There are many objectives and quests to occupy you, and as long as you’re within a good group and lead by a good leader, the task becomes almost effortless. If you’re unfortunate and dont get a good leader or group, this task is almost near impossible or could take some time to complete.

Tips:

When you kill a player in Ashran, make sure you loot the corpse. You will have a chance to loot one of the following.

 Troll Feet
 Blood Elf Ear
 Tauren Hoof
 Goblin Nose
 Orc Tooth
 Forsaken Brains
 Draenei Tail

 Dwarf Spine
 Human Bone Chip
 Pandaren Hide
 Severed Night Elf Head
 Tuft of Gnome Hair
 Worgen Snout

Each one of these items, will earn you a Dented Ashmaul Strongbox, which contains either gold, PvP points or gear. Horde corpses drop alternative tokens and reward the same Strongbox.

Pick up some Song flower which can be found in The Dark Woods. Upon use, will increases all your stats by 15% for 1 hour.

Star Root Tuber found in Gorian falls. Restores health and reduces 40% damage taken for 10 seconds.

Make sure you kill the rares within Ashran, as they drop Manuals, Books and scrolls that will benefit spells for your class. A map outlining all the rares can be found below.
