Draenic Philosopher’s Stone Shuffle

Welcome to my Draenic Philosopher’s Stone shuffle guide. Here I will try and advise you on how to make some guarenteed profit by following this easy step by step guide. A profession shuffle is crafting an item, to maximise materials from either disenchanting, prospecting it or by selling the craft to a vendor for a profit.

Let’s get started!

Item: Draenic Philosopher’s Stone

First off, make sure you have the ability to craft this item. If not, you can simply purchase the recipe from Albert de Hyde or Joshua Alvarez (Horde) or Katherine Joplin or Mary Kearie (Alliance) for one  Secrets of Draenor Alchemy. You can craft one of these once per day, via your profession.

Mats:
 Alchemical Catalyst x5
 True Iron Ore x1

You can either craft these items yourself, or simply purchase them from the Auction House. Remember, when purchasing materials from the Auction House, the price you pay for each item, will reflect on your prfoit at the end of the shuffle, so always bear that in mind.

The  Draenic Philosopher’s Stone sells for 25g 31s 47c each and there’s no crafting limit. As long as the mats cost for example 20g in total, we set to make just over 5g in profit. So you’re probably thinking, is that it, 5g! Well… imagine buying enough mats to craft 1000x Draenic Philosopher’s Stone, like I currently have in my inventory. Now that 5g doesn’t look too bad now, does it? as this would total 5.000g once crafted and sold to a vendor.

There are many other profession shuffles in Jewelcrafting, Enchanting and Tailoring, simply find the one that makes the most profit for you. Check out my future guides for tips and tricks.

Moving Excess Gold with a Character Transfer

GoldBefore I start, I urge you not to get sucked into trading gold from realm to realm, this obviously has so many risks, far greater than any of the tips I have below. Dont fall victim to the scammers that are already ruining this game!

So you’ve dug deep into your pocket and opted to do a Character Transfer from one realm to another, well unless you’ve been fortunate and have been offered the Free Character migration, lucky you…lol.

With any character transfer paid or for free, there are restrictions in place and most notably are the limits of Gold transferred. Most would bypass this restriction altogether and opt for a Guild Transfer instead, as you can transfer gold cap (999.999.99), using a Guild Bank, but many are put off by it due to the price. Not only this, but you can have up to 8 blank slot to transfer all your belonging too.

Sadly, with the character transfer, the limit is significantly less, depending on your level. Here’s a run down of the limits per level.

Level (10-30) 300g
Level (31-50) 1.000g
Level (51-70) 5.000g
Level (71-80) 20.000g
Level (81-100) 50.000g

So, for example, were level 100 and currently sitting with 100.000g making us 50.000g above the limit, how can we get this gold across, without flagging our transfer with issues. Here’s 2 options I’ve used and have advised others to do in the past.

Garrison Recipes:
This is in my eyes is the safest way, its by purchasing the Garrison recipes. These are the recipes you can buy from Rezlak (Horde) or Sparz Boltwist (Alliance) for as little as 750g to a maximum of 1.500g each. You will need a lot of bag space, as potentially, you’ll need to buy about 33-34 recipes at 1.500g each and they don’t stack.

Once your transfer is complete, simply visit any vendor and sell the recipes. They will sell for the exact price you paid for them. What’s better, is there is no time limit. So this is an excellent option risk free, well unless you accidentally delete them, but I doubt you’ll do that!

Battle Pets:
This will take a little more homework, hence why it’s a little more riskier, but if you calculate it well, there will be no hitches. Simply go to The Undermine Journal and find the realm you’re looking to transfer to. Now go to the Auction House and look at the Battle Pets available. Cross reference any battle Pets that interest you and see what the difference is. If you see any pets that will make a good profit, then simply buy them and learn them. Remember, you can only have a maximum of 3 of any pet learnt. Anymore than the 3 and they will take up bag space.

If all fails and you can’t make any profit, you can always cut your losses and sell for cost. You’ll lose a small amount of gold, to the Auction House cut. I very much doubt you’ll struggle though, unless you made a mistake on the pets you purchased. Make sure you note down your purchases, prices etc. Notepad is a godsend for this or you may prefer Excel, each to their own.

Anyway, I hope these tips serve you well and help get that gold across, without paying the extra cash for a Guild Transfer. If you have any tips you’d like to share, or liked this post, please do share your comments below and subscribe.

Farming: AQ10 – (Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj)

Farming: AQ10 - Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj

Farming: AQ10 – Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj:

Welcome to my AQ10 – Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj farming guide. This raid used to be a 20-man raid but has since been reduced to a 10-man. To prevent any confusion, I’ve changed the title from AQ20 to AQ10. This instance is an excellent place to farm, as you can travel throughout the raid instance on your mount and group up and AoE all the trash mobs.

You can find the entrance to AQ10 south of Silithus in Kalimdor, coordinates [36.93].

What To Farm in AQ10?

The loot you’ll be concentrating on here is primarily uncommon pieces: Glorious Plate setLofty Plate set, and Vanguard Plate set. Be warned, the drop rates for all these items are meager, hence why they demand so much gold on the Auction House. So be prepared to do many instances before you start seeing results.

There are other items of interest from this instance, be sure to check Wowhead and TheUndermineJournal (TUJ) for any potentially lucrative items.

The Tactic:

It’s important to remember we’re specifically concentrating on trash mobs in AQ10 and ignoring all the bosses. With this tactic, we can clear our way throughout the whole instance, and once all the trash mobs are dead, we exit the instance and reset it – rinse and repeat to our heart’s content.

Following this advice means we can complete as many runs as we want and, each time, improve our chances of looting some desirable pieces. Not that it’s likely, but remember there is a maximum of 10 instances per one-hour period.

If you kill a boss, you will not be able to reset the instance. Instead, you will need to wait until the instance lockout resets. So please take care maneuvering past the boss(es).

Handy Macro For Resetting An Instance:

Check out this post for a handy script/macro to reset instances quickly and effortlessly.

Map of Silithus, Kalimdor.

How to get to AQ10:

There are two options available to you, starting with the best method.

Option One: Go to the Cataclysm Portals within both Orgrimmar and Stormwind, and take the portal to Uldum. This option will result in you needing to take a short flight from RumkahenUldum to Silithus. Additionally, this portal may not be available to you if you do not have access to Cataclysm content.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Option Two: Head to the new portal room within both Orgrimmar and Stormwind, and look for the Caverns of Time Portal. Taking this portal takes you to the Caverns of Time in Tanaris. This option is slightly longer.

Helpful tip: The Caverns of Time Portal in Orgrimmar is on the bottom floor, below the main portal room. Take the stairs on the left-hand side after entering the portal room entrance.

Clean Your Inventory Before Starting:

Before you make the journey, make sure you have plenty of bag space; if not, use the following mounts; The Traveler’s Tundra MammothGrand Expedition Yak, or the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur, and clean your inventory.

Alternatively, use the three vendors located outside the instance, Keyl Swiftclaw, Warden Haro, and Windcaller Yessendra.

Map of AQ20 - Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj

The Guide:

Above, you can see a detailed map illustrating the route to take and the position of all the bosses within the instance. Please take extra care within the blue circle; pulling any of the mobs here will pull the boss!

Zone One: Scarab Terrace

Enter the instance and group up as many mobs as you can. However, be aware that the mobs do use pushbacks that may result in stunning you. You may wish to limit the number of mobs you pull, but this is entirely up to you and the class you’re playing.

Once this area is clear, you’ll approach the first boss Kurinnaxx. You can clear the mobs around him when they come to you, when they’re dead, maneuver around the boss from a safe distance and enter Zone Two.

Zone Two: General’s Terrace

We have to be very careful, and why I highlighted it in blue. You can kill the two guards at all three entrances, but do not kill anyone else inside that room. If you pull even one mob, they will all come, including the boss General Rajaxx. Weave in and out of the packs and head into Zone Three

If your class has the option, I’d recommend using Stealth to make this situation more manageable. Also, if you pull a mob or the boss and your class has a Feign Death ability, you can use it to reset the boss.

Zone Three: The Reservoir

There are a lot more mobs here, don’t pull too many. The pushbacks from these mobs are far worse than the ones from Zone One, and they’re multiple pushbacks too. I’d recommend pulling a couple of packs, get into a corner, and AoE them down immediately. Then, rinse and repeat until all the mobs are dead.

The boss Moam is up in the far right corner, so easily missed. Move on up the long set of stairs to Zone Four.

Zone Four: Watchers’ Terrace

Ossirian the Unscarred is the boss in this zone; he’s located up the stairs on the right-hand side. Just concentrate on the Anubisath Guardians. Round them up and AoE them down. You will get a debuff, but nothing that will harm you.

Head towards Zone Five once you’ve cleared the room.

Zone Five: The Comb

In this zone, you must make sure you kill the Silicate Feeders. These mobs have a decent drop rate for the plate set items we want. Carefully group the Feeders without aggroing the boss Ayamiss the Hunter (he is above the altar at the back), kill and loot them all, then head down the corridor on the left-hand side.

Check the rooms for further Silicate Feeders as you go through this corridor.

Zone 6: The Hatchery

There isn’t a lot to do here; kill anything you see at the top, go to your right first, kill the pack, then take yourself back around to the other side, as shown in the map above. Finally, you’ll find yourself back at the alternative entrance to Zone Two.

Exiting And Resetting The Instance:

If you’ve followed the directions carefully, enter Zone Two again, carefully weave in and out of the mobs and make your way through Zone One and towards the exit making sure you don’t pull any bosses.

Once you’ve exited, reset the instance! Now would be an excellent opportunity to clear your inventory of any unwanted trash items. I remind you to use The Traveler’s Tundra MammothGrand Expedition Yak, or the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur to repair and sell your junk.

Once you’re ready, reenter the instance and rinse and repeat.

Wowhead

Wowhead was created back in 2005, but was
wowhead iconoriginally developed as a talent calculator. Thankfully, over time it’s been developed further and has become an integral part of World of Warcraft offering detailed guides, information on quests/objectives and more importantly holds the database for every item you can think of within World of Warcraft.

If like myself, you’re in need of help, it’s always the first place i go to. If you can get past some of the trolls or mis-information posted by the minority, you can find some very good tips from the community. I have only recently joined the Wowhead community myself, i have no idea why it took me so long to join and sign up, but better late than never I suppose.

Wowhead also host regular roundups and reviews with Downtime Tuesday and Wowhead Weekly covering news, updates, patches etc from Panser aka @Tradechat and the sites Director, @Perculiar. Check out Panser and Perc on Twitter for regular updates and shenanigans.

Vanguard Plate Set

In my previous two posts, I covered the items needed to complete your Glorious plate set and Lofty plate set. Today , I bring you the Vanguard Plate set. Again, this is a recolour of the original Glorious Plate set. Most of these items, can be farmed from AQ20 (Ruins of AhnQ’iraj).

AQ20 is situated South of Silithus, Kalimdor.

Slot – Item – Average Pricevanguard plate set

Helm – Vanguard Headdress – 7k
Shoulder – Vanguard Pauldrons – 5k
Chest – Vanguard Breastplate – 17.5k
Legs – Vanguard Legplates – 50k
Wrists – Vanguard Vambraces – 8k
Hands –  Vanguard Gauntlets – 4k
Waist – Vanguard Girdle – 4k
Feet – Vanguard Sabatons – 3.5k

These items are highly desired and have an extremely low drop rate, whether you’re collecting these pieces for your own set, or simply farming transmog to sell, these items can easily net you anywhere from as little as 3.500g to as much as 50.000g. This is server dependent of course. Prices will fluctuate depending on your servers demand and competition. So be sure to check the Auction House to see what competition you have. As a rule of thumb, you can always use The Undermine Journal (TUJ) to get important information.

Ive had some success farming items from all three of these sets, but it really knuckles down to RNG and your luck. Drop me a line below and tell me about your experiences, or maybe you’ve made a nice sale, selling these items.

Anyway, have any questions, get in touch and will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks for reading and good luck!

Lofty Plate Set

In this post, i’ll be covering the Lofty Plate set, which is a recolour to the Glorious Plate set. The items for this set can also be farmed from AQ20 (Ruins of AhnQ’iraj), but sadly like the Glorious Plate set, the items have an extremely low drop rate. With this being the case AQ20 is still the ideal place to farm these items.

AQ20 is situated South of Silithus, Kalimdor.

Slot – Item – Average valueLofty plate set

Helm – Lofty Helm – 18k
Shoulder – Lofty Shoulder Pads – 3.2k
Chest – Lofty Breastplate – 18k
Legs – Lofty Legguards – 9.5k
Wrists – Lofty Armguards – 4k
Hands – Lofty Gauntlets – 6k
Waist – Lofty Belt – 7k
Feet – Lofty Sabatons – 6k

Items towards the Lofty Plate set, can go for as little as 3.000g to as high as 18.000g on the Auction House (AH). So even if you’re not farming these items for yourself, they are still a nice little earner if you plan to sell them.

As posted in my previous post, you can also collect the Glorious Plate set and the Vanguard Plate set, these offer different colours to that of the set above. Always check the Auction House to see if there’s much demand or competition if you plan to sell any of these items. The Undermine Journal (TUJ) is a fantastic website if you’re in need of any details on prices etc.

Check out my next post where i cover the last set, the Vanguard Plate set.

Thanks for reading and be sure to share your success stories.

Glorious Plate Set

The Glorious Plate set is a very high demand transmog set which has an extremely low drop chance. You can farm the items towards this set within AQ20 (Ruins of AhnQ’iraj). AQ20 was a classic raid instance back in Vanilla Wow, it can be easilly farmed, with plenty of mobs to kill and loot. It’s without doubt the best place to go if you’re in need of items for this set.

AQ20, is situated south of Silithus in Kalimdor.

Slot – Item – Average ValueGlorious plate set

Helm – Glorious Headdress6.5k
Shoulders – Glorious Shoulder Pad18.5k
Chest – Glorious Breastplate4.5k
Legs – Glorious Legplates95k
Wrist – Glorious Bindings1.5k
Hands – Glorious Gauntlets9k
Waist – Glorious Belt5k
Feet – Glorious Sabatons9.5k

You can also farm items towards the Lofty Plate set and the Vanguard Plate set from AQ20 too. These sets offer a different colour skin to that of the set above. These are also on high demand, due to the extremely low drop rate. Prices for any of these desired items can vary from as low as 1.500g to anywhere up to 95.000g. It really knuckles down to your server and demand.

My advice would be to always check your Auction House (AH) to see whether there’s a demand for it and if there’s none there, good, go check out The Undermine Journal (TUJ). TUJ is a fantastic website, to get information regarding any item you can think of within World of Warcraft. You can see details like prices, amount posted on the auction house etc. Another thing to consider would be looking at downloading TradeSkillMaster (TSM). This addon has so much to offer, the information alone within tooltips is an absolute godsend.

Check my next two posts, highlighting the Lofty Plate set and Vanguard Plate set. Be sure to comment below if you’ve been successful enough to loot one of these items, maybe you’ve sold one and made alot of gold too.

Thanks for reading guys and hope the RNG gods are smiling down on you…
