World Event: Feast of Winter Veil

Feast of Winter Veil:

The Feast of Winter Veil is a holiday event that coincides with the seasonal holiday, Christmas. This event allows players within World of Warcraft to participate in various Christmas-themed activities to earn goodies from under the tree or via daily quests.

Items of Interest:

Below are items you can collect or purchase from the Auction House to sell/flip at a later date. These items are in no particular order, and you should scan the Auction House regularly to find undervalued items.

To keep this list short, I’ve removed any item(s) deemed to hold little to no value! Alternatively, click here for a complete list of Feast of Winter Veil items.

Garrison Daily Quests:

There are a total of 4 daily quests from your Garrison within Draenor. To receive these dailies, you must have a Garrison at level 3. We aim to complete these dailies (as often as possible) to earn Merry Supplies.

Once you’ve completed all four dailies, you’ll obtain five Merry Supplies, check out the vendor, Izzy Hollyfizzle, and purchase the Savage Gift. Ideally, we’re looking to get the Minion of Grumpus (Mount), but it has a 3% chance of being inside. The mount has a Median value of 149k gold, which can increase to approximately 175k gold once the event has finished!

Be aware you have a 14% chance to obtain a Medallion of the Legion, which I’d advise keeping within your inventory until the next Timewalking: Warlords of Draenor (World Event). During that time, players are taking advantage of the 50% increase in reputation gains, meaning there’s increased demand for Medallion of the Legion.

 Huge Ogre Cache:

If you don’t have a Garrison, or it’s not level 3, you can quickly complete the starter quests and redevelop your Garrison to level 3 thanks to acquiring/purchasing Huge Ogre Cache. Remember, you must be level 40 to build a level 3 Garrison!

The Huge Ogre Cache has spiked tremendously during this event; expect to find them priced at approximately 5-10k each! On realms with little to no supply, this can rise to 15k! However, thanks to cross-realm trading, you can shop for cheaper Huge Ogre Cache on other realms and trade them to your destination realm.

Even during this period, be aware that players are actively underselling Huge Ogre Cache, so scan frequently to obtain potential bargains! Look at these bargains I managed to purchase!

Between the 16th of December (the start of the Feast of Winter Veil) and today, New Year’s Day, I’ve sold 189 Huge Ogre Cache for over 788k gold, approximately 4.6k each! To put those numbers into perspective, I never purchase Huge Ogre Cache above 2.5k each, so I’m almost doubling my initial investment!

This ultimately proves there’s value in storing Huge Ogre Cache in preparation for the Feast of Winter Veil as well as the Timewalking: Warlords of Draenor (World Event)!

You’re a Mean One:

There are four lounge cushions (Toys) that, once the Feast of Winter Veil ends, can earn you a lot of gold! To obtain these, you must accept the daily quest: You’re a Mean One… Head over to Hilsbrad Foothills and, within a group, defeat the Abominable Greench.

Recover the stolen treats, rescue Metzen, and hand in the quest for a Stolen Present! Although there’s only a 1.1% chance to earn a lounge cushion, it’s still worth completing. When the event has finished, these lounge cushions average about 40k gold on the Auction House!

Also, the Stolen Present can contain the Miniature Winter Veil Tree but has a very low 0.6%  chance! Considering its low drop chance, you’ll only get 8-10k gold for it; this could rise to 20k once the event has finished!

Black Tabby Cat:

While in Hillsbrad Foothill, you may want to scout around for the rares, The Dark Prowler, and Alitus. They have a small chance of dropping the Companion Pet: Cat Carrier (Black Tabby). This Battle Pet can sell upwards of 35k!

You can find The Dark Prowler asleep at coordinates [33.55]. Alitus will be flying around the ruined Tower at coordinates [47.68].

Professions:

Thanks to Leatherworking and Tailoring, we can craft cosmetic items for Transmog collectors. These can be fruitful, so consider posting these items on your Auction House frequently throughout the event! You can purchase the recipe from your faction’s major city or visit the Smokywood Pastures vendor within your Garrison!

Here’s an outrageous sale I made back in 2021 for Winter Boots, needless to say, before the event even started!

For the best results, ensure you input your realm for precise valuations for your realm. Alternatively, for an average price, check the Median value below the current realm value! When I share pricing information, I always use Median value, as we all play on different realms, and it’s merely a guide. Using the Median value also prevents clickbait titles and exaggerated values that are impossible to meet!
