Blizzard’s Summer Sale

Blizzard’s Summer Sale:

It seems only a week ago when the last sale ended, and we already have another. Blizzard has started their Summer Sale with savings on many items within the Blizzard Store, including, Pets, Mounts, Character Services for World of Warcraft, and discounts for other Blizzard titles.

Discounts on other titles include a 35% off of Call of Duty: Vanguard – Ultimate Edition and a 50% discount on both Call of Duty: Black Ops and Modern Warfare.

For more information on all the discounts available, visit the Blizzard store, or check the store via the Battle.net app!

Character Services:

Blizzard has reintroduced the 30% discount to Character Services, importantly, the Character Transfer and Faction Change bundles.

If you are interested in transferring a character or changing Factions, now is the time to purchase the service(s). The best value is the Eight (usually six) Character Transfer/Faction change.

Instead of £60 for six characters, we now have the option of eight characters; this equates to £7.50 per Character Transfer/Faction Change, compared to £13.50* for a single Character Transfer/Faction Change.

(*) The price for a single Character Transfer/Faction Change during the sale, or £19 outside the deal.

This offer is a no-brainer if you have the funds and intend to move eight or more characters in the future. Remember, purchasing the bundles stays on the character select screen so that you can use these at any time in the future.

Pet, Mounts, and Transmog:

Also available from the shop at a discount are Pets, Mounts, and Transmog. I urge you to check out the Midsummer Night’s Pack before you consider purchasing anything, as the bundle has many Pets, Mounts, and Transmog in the sale.

Don’t worry if you already have some items within the pack, as Blizzard will automatically increase the discount (up to 67%) based on what items you already own.

WoWToken:

With the release of World of Warcraft: Dragonflight pre-purchase last night, there’s been a shortage of WoWTokens. Thankfully, I purchased 25 today, and there were still WoWTokens available at 1 pm today. However, if you experience issues purchasing a WoWToken, wait till late evening or log on early the following morning.

WoWTokens are easier to acquire when there’s no competition. To check the current value of gold for a WoWToken, check out the website: WoW Token Prices.

Consider reading my blog from last night, where I purchased a WoWToken for almost 394k gold. I was short-sighted and wasn’t prepared for the lack of WoWTokens.

WoWToken Prices:

As mentioned above, a new expansion and a new summer sale have increased the demand for WoWTokens. When the demand exceeds the supply, this forces the price of a WoWToken for gold to increase. When the news was released last night, the E.U WoWToken hit a staggering 394k gold.

As of 22:30 this evening, the current gold value for a WoWToken in the E.U region stands at 368k.

Once the supply of WoWTokens exceeds the demand, the price will continue to fall.

When Does the Sale End?

According to the Blizzard Store, the summer sale will end on the 4th of July. I’m guessing this is concerning the U.S region, as it’s reset day for them, meaning the sale may finish on the 5th of July for the E.U region.

The sale that recently ended, the E.U region had the sale for an extra day to coincide with reset day, as E.U reset day is a day later than the U.S region!

Pre-Purchase Dragonflight Today!

Pre-Purchase Dragonflight Today:

For those patiently waiting for updates, World of Warcraft: Dragonflight will release on or before December 31st, 2022! This news also means that pre-purchase is now available!

Editions Available:

There are currently three editions available for pre-purchase at different price points. Each edition has additional benefits, so check out below what they offer.

  • Base Edition: £39.99
  • Heroic Edition: £54.99
  • Epic Edition £74.99

Base Edition:

This Base Edition includes the following,

  • World of Warcraft: Dragonflight.
  • Drakks Pet (pre-purchase bonus item).
  • All new race & class, the Dracthyr Evoker.

Heroic Edition:

Everything included in the Base Edition plus,

  • Dragonflight-Level Character Boost (level 60).
  • Tangled Dreamweaver Flying Mount.
  • Murkastrasza Pet.

Epic Edition:

Everything included in the Base and Heroic Edition plus,

  • Diadem of the Spell-Keeper Head-slot Transmog.
  • Wings of Awakening Back-slot Transmog.
  • 30-Days Game Time.

Character Boost:

If I recall correctly, the character boosts are restricted to the account that purchased the Heroic/Epic Edition. A couple of expansions back, players were buying new accounts/expansions and using the character boost on another account, as the edition’s price was lower than the price of a character boost.

WoWTokens:

As with every other release, the WoWToken always skyrockets on Blizzard releasing anything worthwhile, and today’s news is no different. There are currently no WoWTokens available in the EU region, and the price is presently 330,619 gold each.

If you wish to check the prices of WoWTokens in your realm, check WoWTokenPrices.

The Supply and Demands for a WoWToken:

The price of WoWTokens will continue to rise as there’s more demand for them and a low supply of players purchasing WoWTokens with real money.

The present value is an excellent time for people wishing to purchase WoWTokens with real money, as they’ll get a great deal for their cash. However, this has the opposite effect on gold-makers looking to spend their gold for WoWTokens, as we’re spending more gold for a WoWToken.

Once things start settling down and there becomes an abundance of WoWTokens again, the gold value for a WoWToken should start falling. It all depends on supply and demand.

Conclusion:

I, for one, have been well and truly short-sighted and didn’t expect this news. So for me, I’m one of those at the Action House struggling to purchase a WoWToken. However, I’ll patiently wait for the right time, no doubt when it costs nearer to 400k gold for a WoWToken. 😂

I currently have five accounts in use, but I won’t be going for five Epic Editions. Instead, I’ll be aiming for one Epic Edition and four Heroic Editions. The transmog is of no interest to me, but the five-character boosts will be of interest.

If you are a gold-maker crafting any of the following, keep up the work, as there will be a massive influx of level 60 characters over the next few days/weeks/months.

  • Bags
  • Enchants
  • Crafted ilvl 262 BoEs
  • Crafted Legendaries

Winds of Wisdom

So, I was just posting some auctions and to my surprise, in the top right-hand corner, was a new buff applied, called Winds of Wisdom. I was immediately taken back by this, so I immediately checked what was going on. It’s a buff which does the following; Experience gain increased by 100% (confirmation below) and will be effective between 20th March to 20th April!

winds of wisdom buff

Blizzard obviously aware of the current situation regarding coronavirus (COVID-19) and the need for everyone to start self-isolating has undoubtedly given players of World of Warcraft a little incentive to abide by the current restrictions and alleviate a lot of the free time, by offering this buff. Thankfully at the time of this blog post, there are no restrictions with this buff. I wore full heirlooms + Warmode and the 100% Experience buff and completed a Legion Assault – which may I add is an insane experience gain! I got almost three levels in the space of one assault, please bear in mind I was gathering as well! I haven’t completed a BFA Faction Assault yet as there wasn’t one available, but I’d guess the experience gain from this is also incredible. In fact, @Warcraft on Twitter has just confirmed it!

winds of wisdom buff confirmation

With the weekend finally upon us, I was eager to get some auctions posted, but this new development has put a hold on that. Due to my previous issues IRL I was unable to fully appreciate the insane experience gains from the recent Alterac Valley battleground event. Given this new buff has no restrictions and can be used in every aspect of gaining experience, I’d think it’s fair to say this could be the best experience buff anyone’s experienced to date.

Now what will be interesting, is when The Darkmoon Faire visits with the carousel buff  WHEE! , or interestingly, experience potions ( Elixir of the Rapid Mind &  Excess Potion of Accelerated Learning) If these all stack too, then OMG!

Wowhead has recently published a great article, that I’d urge you to read. It has guides on class leveling with everything you need to know, check it out HERE.

To put how crazy this is into perspective, as of yesterday afternoon the EU WoWToken was at 194,195g as of this morning at 07:15 the token is sitting at 231,571g!

Anyway, I’d love to stay and chat further, but I’m going to do some leveling… I hope you’re taking part too.

Cya in Azeroth!

The End of an Eventful Week…

Good evening readers… it’s been a very eventful week in World of Warcraft, to say the very least and I’m very thankful it’s well and truly over and we start afresh today – reset day! I had my wow#4 account permanently banned, I also purchased Battle for Azeroth on my remaining 4 accounts and increased my subscriptions on all of my accounts to 1 year thanks to a great tip-off from @RethRethReth on Twitter (Detailed info below).

Account Permanently Banned
If you’ve been reading my tweets on Twitter, you’d have read that I suffered a bit of a scare with respect to my wow#4 account on Wednesday 14th March. I noticed I couldn’t access my wow#4 account, so I logged into my Blizzard account and to my amazement, it had been permanently banned. This account was opened a couple of Months ago, thanks to Blizzards Black Friday promotion. I knew I hadn’t done anything wrong, as I always adhere to Blizzards Terms of Service, so I immediately got in touch with them and thankfully within a couple of hours, I was informed my account was flagged for suspicious activity regarding my gold balance.

I explained to them in depth, that this was simply earned via the Auction House and their logs would show this. I was informed it would take approximately 24 hours for them to look in to this via their security team and they’ll get back to me at the earliest opportunity. To be honest, I don’t play daily, so this didn’t have a huge effect on me, however, the thought of losing account unfairly was quite worrying.

The following day, I got an email confirming it was indeed a false flag. They explained the fact the account had acquired a substantial amount of gold (20m gold to be exact) in the short time the account had been created, caused the account to be flagged for suspicious activity. They reinstated my account immediately and they apologised. I told them not to apologise, as i believe it’s an important system to prevent cheating and fraudulent activity.

Tip from @RethRethReth

Thanks to Vahdis on Twitter he mentioned that Activison will be making Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 accessible from Battle.net soon, thus suggesting, it MAYBE PURCHASABLE via wowtokens in the future. There has already been a spike to the price of wowtokens on the Auction House and this could rise further with the release of this news. Source: Eurogamer

With that said above, I decided to upgrade my 4 remaining accounts to Battle for Azeroth and also increase my game-time from 6 Months to 1 year on all accounts. The good thing about this is, I’m taking advantage of a possible spike in wowtokens and also reducing my current Gold balance, which may prevent a future flag on my account. Hell, I don’t wish to go through another flag on my account LOL

Current Balance
With the above taken into consideration, my total balance across all five accounts as of 16.03.18 is… 85.3m.

TCG Battle Pets
I’ve noticed the prices of TCG Battle Pets increasing every week thanks to wow-pets.com and to no surprise, the highest value pet is the Spectral Tiger Cub at almost 800K on EU. so I’ve decided to start caging all of them and storing them in a Guild Bank on an alt. I’m also buying up any I deem reasonable, to make a sufficient flip. I’m not 100% sure when, but I’m likely to keep hold of them until Battle for Azeroth drops, exactly how I did in the build up to Legion then start posting when players return.

If any of you look into buying up any cheap TCG Battle Pets too, be sure to purchase via the Auction House. Many accounts get hacked and people sell off cheap TCG pets in trade chat as they’re very desirable to many people, especially if they’re ridiculously cheap! These can and will be removed via a GM and no gold refunded if they’re proven to be obtained fraudulently. So I urge you to use the Auction House as its the safest way, as all purchases are tracked and safe.

Here’s a screenshot of my current collection, proudly shown off by my alt, Battersea.

IRL
Things at home are slowly getting a little easier now, maybe the transitional period coming to a close, and a smoother road ahead… who knows. We’ve seen a massive improvement already with our children’s education, but what’s been more reassuring, is the improvements with our daughters diabetes. Her readings are so much better and she’s finally adapting to it really well. No more missed lunches at school, no more worrying about her getting her insulin taken at school, it’s all done with us!

It’s been without doubt the best decision we’ve made homeschooling our children. It may not be the answer to everyone’s problems, but it certainly has been for us and it’s paying off!

If you’re not sure what I’m referring to, please read my previous blog post Why I’ve Been Inactive in Warcraft.

That’s all from me tonight, just a little update…lol! I hope you’re all well and be sure to say hi on Twitter (or here) if you pass me by…
