Today (Sunday 5th December) sees the return of the Darkmoon Faire, a World Event that rolls up on the first Sunday of each month outside Stormwind and Thunder Bluff. There are many activities you can participate in, in a bid to earn Darkmoon Tokens for fabulous prizes!
For a detailed guide on the Darkmoon Faire, click the link here for more information!
The Whee and WoW’s Anniversary Buff:
As some of you may know, tomorrow (Monday 6th December) at 10 am, we’ll see WoW’s Seventeenth Anniversary come to an end. Until then, I urge anyone leveling any characters to visit the Darkmoon Faire, take a ride on the Carrousel, and obtain the Whee!buff. The buff will give you a 10% increase in Experience and Reputation gains. This buff will last for one hour!
Now, if you Include the Anniversary buff, of 17%, you stand to gain a total of 27% gain on Experience and Reputation.
Remember, the Whee! buff only lasts for one hour, so this will need to be refreshed hourly. The percentage of experience can be increased further if your character is well-rested!
Handing in Darkmoon Artifacts:
If you’re fortunate to have read this blog post, and you still have time to take advantage of both buffs mentioned above. Now is a better time than any to hand in your Darkmoon Artifacts. These can only be handed in once per month, per character!
With both buffs active and handing in all 9 Artifacts, I managed to get 55% into level 50!
Although these are regarded as dailies (due to the blue exclamation mark), they can’t be completed daily; instead, these can be completed once per monthly reset, the same as Darkmoon Artifacts.
If you’re five levels away from maximizing your profession, these Profession dailies are an excellent method to reaching that goal.
Obtaining Replica Transmog:
On many of the realms, I play the Auction House on, the biggest sales are concerning Replica Transmog. These items are obtained initially through the Darkmoon Faire by acquiring Darkmoon Faire Tickets fulfilling many of the activities on offer.
These pieces can sell upwards of 40k per piece. Ideally, the pieces that cost 75 Darkmoon Tickets will sell higher, as these are harder to obtain.
For a detailed explanation on obtaining Replica Transmog, click the link.
Quest – Silas’ Secret Stash:
Silas’ Secret Stash is a great quest to complete if you haven’t done so already. This quest can only be completed once, so be sure to check if you’ve completed it already. Copy and paste the script (added below) in the chatbox for confirmation. You will get either a True or False response.
/script print(IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(38934))
True = Completed False = Not Completed
If you’ve not completed this quest yet, please check out my guide here for a full explanation!
Reminder:
You have until Saturday 11th December at 23:59; then the Darkmoon Faire will leave. Be sure to have handed in all your quests, purchased/acquired all your prizes, as the Darkmoon Faire doesn’t return until Sunday 2nd January 2022!

This Saturday, 4th June at midnight, sees the return of the Darkmoon Faire to Azeroth. The Darkmoon Faire has some excellent opportunities to get involved with if you enjoy gold-making. Darkmoon Artifacts, Replica Transmog, Darkmoon Companions, Fishing, and farming Darkmoon Rares are a few of the things on offer to you. But, remember, The Darkmoon Faire is only in town for a week, so make good use of your time!
Darkmoon Artifacts:
Darkmoon Artifacts are an essential commodity. These are quest starters that reward Darkmoon Prize Tickets and experience (or gold if you’re at max level). You can turn these Artifacts in once per Darkmoon Faire per character – so don’t forget those alts!
Mid-way throughout the month, when the Darkmoon Faire is out of town, these are posted very cheaply on the Auction House. So this is a great time to purchase these and store them ready for the Faire’s return. If you can’t turn anymore in, consider flipping them on the Auction House for other players.
Check out my blog post on Darkmoon Artifacts here.
Replica Transmog:
The Replica Transmog market is something I post about frequently. These pieces can demand a high price on the Auction House. To purchase these items, you’ll need to acquire Darkmoon Prize Tickets. The easiest method to obtain these is by handing in Darkmoon Artifacts, which I’ve mentioned above.
Remember, Replica pieces have a level requirement you must meet to successfully purchase them from the vendor.
Don’t forget to complete the daily quests at stools scattered on the Island. Completing one of these rewards one Darkmoon Prize Ticket, but you can complete these once per day.
If Replica Transmog isn’t of interest to you, then maybe some of the companion pets are. These will set you back 90 Darkmoon Prize Tickets each and, if leveled to 25, can earn you approximately 10-15k each on the Auction House, realm dependant. Check The Undermine Journal (TUJ) for prices on your realm!
Unsure what Companion Pets to buy, check my blog post here.
Sila’s Secret Stash:
One of the best ways to obtain Darkmoon Tickets is completing the quest Silas’ Secret Stash. This quest can only be completed once on any one character. Check out my post below for more information regarding Silas’ Secret Stash.
Darkmoon Daggermaw is a fish you can catch along the shores of Darkmoon Isle. You’ll need to be on the lookout for Shipwreck Debris. You have a chance to successfully cast between 1-2 times, catching a Sealed Darkmoon Crate each time. Simply open the crate to loot Darkmoon Daggermaw and other potentially useful items.
The Darkmoon Rabbit is worth between 25-30k, but if learned and leveled to 25, you could demand upwards of 40-50k. Moon Moon is worth approximately 15k, but if you learn it and level it to 25, you could demand about 30-35k.
The Darkmoon Faire also has profession quests. Although these have a blue quest marker, these are not dailies; instead, these can only be completed once per Darkmoon Faire visit. However, it would be best not to ignore these because they give you five skill points towards your profession.
These quests are ideal if you’re five points away from maxing your profession!
In Other News:
This week, I also completed my BoE Recipe groups. This project took me over seven days to complete and has information on every BoE recipe you can buy and sell on the Auction House. If you’ve ever considered getting involved within the BoE Recipe market, then check out my blog post here. It covers every profession and vendor BoE recipe.
I have created TSM groups that may be of interest to you, these do not have operations, and you can make changes however you wish. Be sure to backup your TSM Profile before importing.
If this is of interest to you, check out my blog post here.

On the 4th October at 12:01 am (tonight) brings the return of the Darkmoon Faire. The Faire is a very profitable event which turns up on the first Sunday of each month. What makes this more worthwhile is that it’s the last one before the release of the Shadowlands pre-patch (13th October) and the incoming level and item level squish.
I won’t go into great detail of the ins and outs of the Darkmoon Faire today; however, if you do want that information, I’ll redirect you to this post which delves into it in more detail.
Today, my post is concerning the elixir that’s discontinued in the Shadowlands pre-patch called Elixir of the Rapid Mind. You may be fortunate to have some left in your inventory and given the 15-minute usage; you may be apprehensive at how best to use it. If this is you, please consider using the elixir before handing in all your Darkmoon Faire quest items and dailies. Upon using this elixir, it will grant you: Increased experience gain by 300% for 15 minutes.
I must remind you that there’s a maximum level restriction of level 99 – this will not work for players above level 99! Also, be sure to have heirlooms equipped and any other experience buffs (e.g. Carousel buff – whee!) active.
I know using the elixirs whilst completing objectives (e.g. within Draenor) return incredible amounts of experience. My example today is just a more straightforward method that will produce a fair amount of experience, without the added fuss of trying to complete as many objectives as possible within the 15 minutes.
If you don’t have any elixirs in your inventory and want to power level your characters, you may be fortunate to find some on the Auction House. I think if you can find them up to 10k, then it’s well worth the return. I’ve been fortunate to see a lot around the 6k mark. If you have some alts that you want to level quickly, then it’s worth considering this method.
If this method is of no interest to you, and you have elixirs at your disposal, consider placing them on the Auction House for the benefit of other players to use. You have until the pre-patch releases to use them or sell them, before they’re discontinued and turn in to a grey painful looking item. As of the date of this post, you have 10 days till pre-patch releases!
If there’s anything further, that I may have missed out, please drop a comment below.

Since the Shadowlands pre-patch, this post is now outdated, please check my new page Darkmoon Faire for up-to-date information!
Hello to all my readers!
Today, I felt it was a good time, to revisit an old blog post, that needed updating: The Secrets of The Darkmoon Faire This was originally posted back in 2015, and I felt it was in need of some love. As with a lot of markets within World of Warcraft, they’re continually changing; especially prices and the demand for items! A lot of what I recommended back in 2015, has since altered over time and it’s only fair that I update those changes and offer some advice that may be profitable on the realm you play on!
It’s important to point out, that this is a guide that outlines what I do, if you wish to take this information on board and incorporate this on to your realm, be sure to use all the information available to you, to maximise your profit. Helpful websites/addons posted below, that can show current/average prices, realm populations etc. I use these, and they’re an important foundation to every Gold Makers success!
The Darkmoon Faire is a World Event that is only available to you for one week from the 1st Sunday of each month. To see if this event is available, open the Calendar in-game, and you’ll see when/if it’s available.
The Darkmoon Faire has a lot to offer, from completing profession dailies, (helping you increase your profession level), fun mini-games and some rare bosses to conquer, with some decent loot, i.e. the Darkmoon Rabbit as a reward (if you’re lucky!). Most of these tasks, reward you with Darkmoon Prize Ticketwhich if used correctly, can purchase some profitable items, which you can sell on the Auction House.
Class Trials No Longer an Option!
Now it’s important to start by informing you, that Class Trial characters, can no longer access The Darkmoon Faire, so the exploit to farming Replica gear has been fixed. So what does this mean for us? Well, the over-saturated Replica market, will slowly dry up, as the demand outweighs the quantity available and has the potential to result in another rise in prices.
Alternatively, you have two options. Levelling Death Knight’s through the starting area, rinse & repeating as originally pointed out by Sheyrah & Xionik or creating an allied Race character which starts at level 20(be aware, that you cannot hand in all quest items and buy Replica items – as these have a level requirement of level 60). Still, you can purchase Companion Pets/Battle Pets from Lhara or Darkmoon Faire cosmetic Transmog from Chester as there’s no level requirement.
Darkmoon Faire Quest Items:
Darkmoon Faire Quest Items, are the most essential items to loot (if you’re lucky). Be sure to have the Darkmoon Adventurer’s Guide in your inventory! Now if you don’t have one, visit Selina Dourman who will give you one on completion of the quest The Darkmoon Faire. If you’ve lost it, she’ll also offer you a replacement. If the RNG Gods are against you, and you’re not fortunate enough to loot any/all of them, then you can purchase them from the Auction House, but do so before The Darkmoon Faire comes to Town. The prices sky-rocket to about *500g–2000g each (dependant on realm population) I’d recommend buying them up mid-way through the month when it’s closed, where you can buy these up anywhere below the *500g mark as players try to clear their inventories. There are also great to flip!
(*) Denotes current changes to Darkmoon Faire Quest Item prices since the release of Battle for Azeroth. Check this blog post for a detailed explanation for the price changes.
With a lot of markets in World of Warcraft, these prices greatly depend on the size of the realm you play on, and supply and demand. High populated realms, tend to have a lot of these quest items; with increased competition, bring lower prices to the customer. Low populated realms, have lower competition that bring higher prices. To take advantage of all of this, buy your quest items when The Darkmoon Faire is closed! Once we turn all these quests in, we’re rewarded with some gold and 80 Darkmoon Prize Ticket!
Reminder: If you’re not exalted with The Darkmoon Faire, or max level be sure to hit that Carousel and activating War Mode before handing these quest items in, as you’ll receive an increase to your reputation and experience gain. War Mode can give you up to 30% extra experience gains. The % is dependant on whether you faction is outnumbered, the greater you’re outnumbered, the higher the % up to 30%.
Also: Be aware that you can only hand in one of each quest item per Month. There are 9 in total, which I’ve added below, including a TSM import string for your convenience.
loot/buy the quest items to earn Darkmoon Prize Tickets, to purchase a range of items available from The Darkmoon Faire vendors (as outlined later)
loot/buy the quest items to flip at a later date when the demand for them is far greater (ideally, the first Saturday of the Month, before the Faire is about to open).
A great Gold-maker called OldBess, who creates fantastic World of WarcraftGold Making content within the community, has created a great video showing you how to complete this quest chain. Please do like, share his video if you found it helpful. Also, please do subscribe to him, as you will get updates on future content, thank you!
If you’re unsure whether your main or alt character has completed this quest, click the image below and copy and paste the script from Wowhead, be sure to upvote the comment to keep it at the top of the comment section.
Now hit (C) to open your character info, and check out the currency tab, here it will show you how many tokens you’ve collected and have available to spend. Ideally, if the competition is low on your realm or prices are high, we will be looking at spending our tokens on Replica Transmog, but there are alternatives with Battle Pets if you prefer.
Replica Transmog:
Replica pieces can be very profitable to sell on the Auction House and are purchased from Barum & Baruma. If you wish, you can also purchase the Heirloom replica’s; these are available from Daenrand Dawncrest. For the Belts, Bracers, and Gloves, these items will cost you 50 Darkmoon Prize Ticketeach, and for the Helm, Chest, Legs and Shoulder’s, these will set you back 75 Darkmoon Prize Ticket each!Be sure to use The Undermine Journal, to see what the most profitable piece is for your realm.
As a rough guide, the minimum you could sell one piece for is approximately 40k on a medium to low populated server. On a high populated server, anywhere around the 25k mark! Now, I know many of you will be sceptical, that’s only natural, so what better way to prove it by using our trusted friend Twitter! Head on over to Twitter, and in the search box, add the following #Replica #Transmog this will show you all the tweets tagged with Replica Transmog! The Tweets from the top, show you recent sales/activity, during Legion, and if you scroll down, you might be lucky to see sales from previous expansions, which will outline, how drastic the prices have changed over time/expansion.
To help with posting, or maybe buying the Replica gear for flipping, I’ve added below the links of the gear sets and a link to my Replica TSM Import string at my Pastebin for your convenience.
Please click HEREfor my Replica Transmog TSM Import String.
Companion Pets/Battle Pets:
If you delve into the Battle Pet market like me, you’ll be interested in this section. Lhara is the Darkmoon Pet & Mount Vendor and sells a collection of pets that you can cage and uncage to sell on the Auction House. These pets can be bought for 90 Darkmoon Prize Tickets each and can sell at level 1 for approximately 10-15k each! You may wish to level them to 25, to gain that extra 5k-10k each. If there’s a pet of interest, be sure to check out wow-pets and see what the current average price for that given pet is for your realm, It’s a great source of information, if you dabble in the Battle Pet market.
Reminder: Be sure to kill the Darkmoon Rabbit too, this pet still sells for a nice amount if you manage to loot one. People are posting at 20k-30k, but I’ve been managing to buy them up to sell at 50k-60k still.
Again, for your convenience, you can find my Darkmoon Battle Pets TSM Import String from my pastebin HERE. This also includes, rare (and uncommon where possible) level 1 and 25 pet IDs and also the Darkmoon Rabbit IDs.
This is all the Darkmoon Faire stuff I deal in, but there’s an array of things, that you can do, that I’ve not even touched on. The best guide that I can recommend is from Wowhead, and it’s the one I use, when I need to do profession dailies on my alts, check it out HERE! Be sure to give it a rating and leave a comment if you found it helpful!
Many thanks for reading, I hope this updated guide, helps you understand a little more of what I do within this special event and the changes to the prices and improved emphasis on the importance of realm populations to maximise your profit, because, that’s what we’re all thriving to do as Gold Makers – make the most amount of gold as possible, with the least amount of effort/time.
