Timewalking: The Burning Crusade

Timewalking: The Burning Crusade.

Timewalking Burning Crusade:

This Timewalking event: Burning Crusade, is a fantastic opportunity if you need to reach Revered and Exalted reputation for Factions within Outland. Plenty of Recipes and Transmog locked behind these reputation milestones, i.e., Shattered Sun Offensive, Keeper’s of Time, and The Consortium, to name a few.

With the buff: Sign of the Twisted Nether, we get a 50% increase in reputation gains from combat and quests. So if you plan on doing the dailies for the Shattered Sun Offensive and Normal/Heroic runs of Magister’s Terrace, this is the best time to do it!

You must be level 50 or above to participate in the random Timewalking dungeon.

Check those Alts!

If you remember my post regarding the World Event: WoW’s Anniversary and followed my advice to log in to all your alts, you will have earned some easy Timewarped Badges on them. Now is their moment to shine!

If your character is level 30 or above, they can access the vendor Cupri.

Log all your level 30 alts, purchase any commendations you need, and mail them to the character that requires the reputation boost. If you’re unsure what commendations are and where to buy them, check out the next part of this blog post: Reputations to Grind.

TBC Timewalking Dungeons:

Below are six Dungeons available to you during the TBC Timewalking event. You must be level 30 or above to queue up for these Dungeons! This is thanks to the changes within Patch 10.1.7!

TBC Timewalking Raid:

Also available during this Timewalking event is a special Timewalking Raid: Black Temple. You will need to form a Raid, and once you have your players, the Raid Leader can queue up! You must find the NPC: Vormu, who will allow you to queue for Timewalking: Black Temple.

Reputations To Grind:

Here’s a reminder of some of the factions to grind during this Timewalking Event.

Alternatively, check out the Timewalking vendor, Cupri. She sells an assortment of items for your hard-earned Timewarped Badges, including commendations. Here’s a list of commendations that will be of interest to you.

For a very well-detailed guide on farming reputations with Outland factions during the Timewalking: Burning Crusade event, check out Wowhead’s guide.

Reputation Tokens:

You may wish to either purchase these from the Auction House or check out Wowhead for the best places to farm them. Remember, handing in these tokens while under the buff: Sign of the Twisted Nether will reward you with a 50% extra reputation!

Cenarion Expedition:

Unidentified Plant Parts (Hand in up to Friendly)

Lower City:

Arakkoa Feather (Hand in until Honored)

The Aldor:

Mark of Kil’jaeden (Hand in until Honored)
Mark of Sargeras (Hand in until Exalted)
Fel Armament (Hand in until Exalted)

The Scryers:

Firewing Signet (Hand in until Honored)
Sunfury Signet (Hand in until Exalted)
Arcane Tome (Hand in until Exalted)

If you’re considering obtaining the Achievement: Hero of Shattrath, you will need to farm or purchase the following items to decrease the reputation with the faction you were exalted with first.

Dampscale Basilisk Eye (Aldor to The Scryers Neutral)
Dreadfang Venom Sac (The Scryers to Aldor Neutral)

Farming Instances & Dailies to Farm Rep:

Once you hit a reputation milestone for a specific Faction, you will be restricted to earning reputation either via Faction-specific dailies or instances associated with the Faction.

Check out Wowhead’s Rep farming guide. Scroll down to The Burning Crusade!

Bag of Fishing Treasures:

Another great shout is purchasing the Bag of Fishing Treasures from Cupri. This bag will set you back 150 Timewarped Badges. It can reward you with a BoP companion pet; four are available.

I’d only recommend doing this method if you have nothing else to purchase with your Timewarped Badges. Alternatively, shop the Auction House for these pets instead.

Ideally, you want to purchase these pets while the event is active; these companion pets will become more valuable when the event has finished. I regularly post these at 7.5k-10k each for a level 1 battle pet. If you have a level 25, consider adding 5k to its value.

Recipes of Interest:

There are far too many recipes to name, but I can assure you there’s a lot of gold to be made by acquiring some of the recipes locked behind Outland factions.

We’re not looking to flip these recipes; more so, learn them and craft the items.

Here are a few notable mentions from past experiences.

Recipe: Flask of Supreme Power (Keepers of Time)
Formula: Enchant Weapon – Greater Agility (The Violet Eye)
Jewelcrafting Recipes (Shattered Sun Offensive)

Some Sales highlighting how profitable these recipes are!

Timewalking Consumables:

As a reminder (especially for those who are not already familiar with Timewalking and the Mage Tower), there are scaling benefits for min-maxing your gear for participating in Timewalking content. Ideally, you want to have the best gear, gem slots, and consumables, but be aware of potential Legendary, Legion Legendary effects, and Azerite Power restrictions.

Remember, the more gem slots on your gear, the better!

Timewalking Gems:

The gems from Dragon Soul (Queen’s Garnet cuts) are best in slot. However, if you’re low on funds, always consider other gem cuts, Primordial Ruby, Inferno Ruby, Cardinal Ruby, and Crimson Spinel. The meta gems are very significant too.

Timewalking Enchants:

Due to level restrictions/limitations with enchants you need to follow a simple rule.

If your item is;

Below ilvl 50, use an enchant below level 50.
Above ilvl 50, use a level 50 enchant
.

Belt Buckles:

As mentioned above, gem slots are important, so equipping a belt buckle will add a gem slot to your waist. Ideally, you want the Living Steel Belt Buckle.

Check the r/Timewalking team for Timewalking tips and tricks. Also, there’s a great guide via Wowhead for optimizing your gear for all Timewalking Events. Ensure you follow the information regarding the event you’re interested in, especially TBC!

[UPDATE] Added the new minimum level requirements to enter TBC Timewalking Dungeons, following the update from Patch 10.1.7! (24.09.23)

Medallion of the Legion

I’m sure many of you remember the awful start we experienced on the release of Warlords of Draenor (WoD) and the inability to access the Dark Portal, and, later on in the night, the inability to access the starter quest to build our Garrisons. Once the developers ironed out the issues, it quickly became apparent how essential Garrisons would be in WoD and the wealth of things it would offer, most notably, the Medallion of the Legion!

As the expansion progressed, it wasn’t too long before players were aware of the mission table’s potential, and before you knew it, they were min-maxing their followers and traits, taking full advantage of the encounters available to them. The gold missions were insane, and the mission table gave us an alternative method to obtain raid loot. Still, an excellent addition was a mission that gave us another option to acquire the Medallion of Legion.

What is a Medallion of the Legion:

The Medallion of the Legion is an item that can be purchased from other players, looted via rares or acquired by completing a specific mission at the mission table. Upon consuming this Medallion, you will receive 1000 reputation with the denizens of Draenor.

Important: If you own a level 3 Trading Post and you’re situated within Draenor, once you consume the Medallion, you will receive a 20% bonus (if the Darkmoon Faire is in town, get the Whee! buff for an additional 10% bonus). The Sign of Iron buff from WoD Timewalking which rewards 50% reputation gains does not affect the Medallion of the Legion.

The Denizens of Draenor:

Once you consume your Medallion of the Legion, you will receive 1000 reputation to all these factions also known as the Denizens of Draenor. [A] Alliance Faction – [H] Horde Faction.

Due to the removal of the battleground Ashran in 8.0, it is no longer possible to gain 1000 rep for Wrynn’s Vanguard and Vol’jin’s Spear when consuming a Medallion of the Legion. Source: WowheadSklixe

Ashran has since been reworked and released, but I’m unsure whether the limitations mentioned above are still an issue!

Why Should I Max My Denizens Reputations?

Locked behind the Denizens of Draenor are Companion Pets/Battle Pets, Followers, and Mounts. You will need Revered and Exalted to meet these requirements. An image below, outlining the reputation requirements to purchase items from the Council of Exarchs.

How to Obtain a Medallion of the Legion:

The Medallion of the Legion is a reward for killing and looting four rares within Tanaan Jungle; these rares had between an 18-19% chance to drop a Medallion. These rares were hugely popular due to players also farming Fel-Corrupted Apexis Fragment – you should only kill these rares once per day, per character; any more than once, and you’ll not receive any loot.

The Rares:

Here is a handy script that will inform you if you’ve already defeated the rare for today. Please enter it in the chatbox; it will inform you if you’ve conquered that rare for today. Source: Wowheadslybootz

/run for k,v in pairs({deathtalon=39287, terrorfist=39288, doomroller=39289, vengeance=39290}) do print(format("%s: %s", k, IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(v) and "\124cFFFF0000Completed\124r" or "\124cFF00FF00Not completed yet\124r")) end

Eldritch Horrors:

As WoD progressed, the developers added a mission table encounter called Eldritch Horrors in patch 6.2. Upon completing this encounter, it rewarded players with a Medallion of the Legion.

Buying and Selling Medallion of the Legion:

If you’ve maxed out your reputations with the denizens of Draenor and have no use for them, you can post them on the Auction House. During WoD, the average price was 15k per Medallion; as WoD came to an end and the release of Legion, the price skyrocketed to 30k. Sadly, as the expansions have come and gone, so has a lot of its value. But don’t let that put you off. You can still find Medallions for approximately 1-2k gold each and can flip these between 4-7k each (Region/Realm dependant)

The Undermine Journal (TUJ) Region Median Prices.

Conclusion:

Although we’re in Shadowlands now, and WoD was almost seven years ago, don’t be fooled into thinking the Medallion of the Legion are of no interest anymore. I sell these regularly on the Auction House between 4-7k gold each. Players who have recently started/restarted playing World of Warcraft may try to catch up with their reputations or collect missing pets and mounts locked behind reputation requirements. The Medallions are a cheap and efficient method for players to catch up, and it’s this that gives them their current value.
