PvP Brawl: Comp Stomp

PvP Brawl: Comp Stomp:

If you’ve not noticed already, this week finally sees the return of the beloved PvP Brawl: Comp Stomp! If PvP isn’t quite your cup of tea, or maybe you have no gear, and you’re hesitant to join the fun, don’t; the battlegrounds are extremely easy!

What is a PvP Brawl?

Every week, you can participate in a PvP brawl. The brawls change on a rotation, so there will be different modes available. Check the in-game calendar to view the current or any future Brawls.

This content is strictly for max-level characters only!

What is the PvP Brawl: Comp Stomp?

Set in Arathi Basin, your aim of the game is to cap as many bases as possible and reach 1600 resources before your opponents; doing so will make you and your team the winner.

What’s different is the opponents are AI. If you quickly cap all the bases and successfully reach the Stables (as Horde) or the Farm (as Alliance) before losing any bases, you should be able to push the AI back and camp them in their base.

The AI

The AI is extremely easy, and similar to the AI used in Island Expeditions. Quickly eliminating and interrupting the healers, will make this battleground very efficient!

Arathi Basin Perfection:

As we’re fighting AI, fights can be straightforward. Cap the bases, and target healers pronto, and where necessary, use your interrupts! The Comp Stomp is an excellent opportunity to obtain the problematic achievement: Arathi Basin Perfection.

There’s no pressure or criticism from your teammates. I’m sure you’re aware of the normal PvP toxicity in random battlegrounds? So this is an excellent opportunity to get involved with some PvP with no stress!

Achievement: Arathi Basin Perfection

What Are The Benefits Of The Comp Stomp?

By sweeping across the map and following the directions above, you can efficiently farm, Honor, Conquest, Mark of Honor, and Renown. Each Brawl should last between 3-5 minutes to complete.

Be sure to have your Darkmoon Adventurer’s Guide in your inventory, as you can farm the following Darkmoon Artifacts;

Mark of Honor:

The Comp Stomp is an excellent opportunity if you’re trying to farm Mark of Honor to purchase old PvP sets or old recipes from Battle for Azeroth (i.e. Uncanny recipes).

PvP Gear:

If you don’t have any PvP gear, don’t fear. Use your PvE gear, and try and add items when possible. You will quickly earn your pieces and be under no pressure to fulfill your stats straight away as the AI in Comp Stomp is easy.

If you’d prefer to concentrate on anything, ideally, you’ll be aiming to get a lot of Versatility; this will aid in your damage done and your survivability. Oh, and don’t forget those trinkets, especially the Medallion, which can remove movement impairing effects.

Renown:

If you’re like me and have taken a break from current content, you may find yourself behind on Renown. Thankfully completing PvP content is considered when leveling your Renown. Due to how efficient and quick these Brawls are, we can earn a lot of Renown.

The Comp Stomp is an excellent scenario for players who have fallen behind or changed covenants and need to catch up. In two days, I’ve gone from Renown 20 to Renown 45 and finally have my flying.

Useful Addons:

For those new to PvP, and would love those pesky healers highlighted more in your opposing team, I suggest installing the addon: HHTD alternatively called Healers Have To Die.

Using this addon will highlight a healer with a red cross, and will also play a sound when you’ve successfully targeted a healer.

Things To Do Before Legion

Sadly, the run up to any rLegionLogo_lessglowelease to a new expansion is always a long and drawn out process, with the lack of new content and things to do. The introduction of Legion, will be a longer wait than the release of any previous expansion. But if you’re willing to read this first installment, you’ll find plenty of things to occupy you until Legion finally hits and hopefully prevent you from cancelling your subscription.

PvP:

With the introduction of Season 3, everyone will be keen to gear up again. Dont worry if you’ve not done any PvP in Seasons 1 and 2, as all gear whether PvP/PvE will get boosted to 715 ilvl (15 ilvl below Gladiator gear from Season 2) in Season 3 whilst within a Battleground, Arena or Ashran. This helps close the gaps for new players. However, always remember ilvl is just a guide of your gear, it isnt the important factor, you’ll need to concentrate on the stat priority for your class in PvP, to reap the full rewards of your gear.

Ashran can be an excellent way to gear up, if you have the patients. There are many objectives and quests to occupy you, and as long as you’re within a good group and lead by a good leader, the task becomes almost effortless. If you’re unfortunate and dont get a good leader or group, this task is almost near impossible or could take some time to complete.

Tips:

When you kill a player in Ashran, make sure you loot the corpse. You will have a chance to loot one of the following.

 Troll Feet
 Blood Elf Ear
 Tauren Hoof
 Goblin Nose
 Orc Tooth
 Forsaken Brains
 Draenei Tail

 Dwarf Spine
 Human Bone Chip
 Pandaren Hide
 Severed Night Elf Head
 Tuft of Gnome Hair
 Worgen Snout

Each one of these items, will earn you a Dented Ashmaul Strongbox, which contains either gold, PvP points or gear. Horde corpses drop alternative tokens and reward the same Strongbox.

Pick up some Song flower which can be found in The Dark Woods. Upon use, will increases all your stats by 15% for 1 hour.

Star Root Tuber found in Gorian falls. Restores health and reduces 40% damage taken for 10 seconds.

Make sure you kill the rares within Ashran, as they drop Manuals, Books and scrolls that will benefit spells for your class. A map outlining all the rares can be found below.
