The Darkmoon Faire

The Darkmoon Faire

The Darkmoon Faire:

This Saturday, 4th June at midnight, sees the return of the Darkmoon Faire to Azeroth. The Darkmoon Faire has some excellent opportunities to get involved with if you enjoy gold-making. Darkmoon Artifacts, Replica Transmog, Darkmoon Companions, Fishing, and farming Darkmoon Rares are a few of the things on offer to you. But, remember, The Darkmoon Faire is only in town for a week, so make good use of your time!

Darkmoon Artifacts:

Darkmoon Artifacts are an essential commodity. These are quest starters that reward Darkmoon Prize Tickets and experience (or gold if you’re at max level). You can turn these Artifacts in once per Darkmoon Faire per character – so don’t forget those alts!

Mid-way throughout the month, when the Darkmoon Faire is out of town, these are posted very cheaply on the Auction House. So this is a great time to purchase these and store them ready for the Faire’s return. If you can’t turn anymore in, consider flipping them on the Auction House for other players.

Check out my blog post on Darkmoon Artifacts here.

Replica Transmog:

The Replica Transmog market is something I post about frequently. These pieces can demand a high price on the Auction House. To purchase these items, you’ll need to acquire Darkmoon Prize Tickets. The easiest method to obtain these is by handing in Darkmoon Artifacts, which I’ve mentioned above.

Remember, Replica pieces have a level requirement you must meet to successfully purchase them from the vendor.

Don’t forget to complete the daily quests at stools scattered on the Island. Completing one of these rewards one Darkmoon Prize Ticket, but you can complete these once per day.

Here’s my blog post regarding Replica Transmog.

Darkmoon Companion Pets:

If Replica Transmog isn’t of interest to you, then maybe some of the companion pets are. These will set you back 90 Darkmoon Prize Tickets each and, if leveled to 25, can earn you approximately 10-15k each on the Auction House, realm dependant. Check The Undermine Journal (TUJ) for prices on your realm!

Unsure what Companion Pets to buy, check my blog post here.

Sila’s Secret Stash:

One of the best ways to obtain Darkmoon Tickets is completing the quest Silas’ Secret Stash. This quest can only be completed once on any one character. Check out my post below for more information regarding Silas’ Secret Stash.

Silas’ Secret Stash

Fishing (Darkmoon Daggermaw):

Darkmoon Daggermaw is a fish you can catch along the shores of Darkmoon Isle. You’ll need to be on the lookout for Shipwreck Debris. You have a chance to successfully cast between 1-2 times, catching a Sealed Darkmoon Crate each time. Simply open the crate to loot Darkmoon Daggermaw and other potentially useful items.

I have success in selling Darkmoon Daggermaw between 25-50g each, depending on the realm. These are useful for the one-time quest Silas’ Secret Stash, a commodity for purchasing items from the vendor Galissa Sundew and a reagent for cooking. Check The Undermine Journal (TUJ) to see where the best value is for your Darkmoon Daggermaw.

My blog post regarding Darkmoon Daggermaw.

Farming Darkmoon Rares:

There are two rares on Darkmoon Isle, the Darkmoon Rabbit, and Moonfang. They both drop a companion pet, a Darkmoon Rabbit and a Moon Moon, respectively.

The Darkmoon Rabbit is worth between 25-30k, but if learned and leveled to 25, you could demand upwards of 40-50k. Moon Moon is worth approximately 15k, but if you learn it and level it to 25, you could demand about 30-35k.

Always check The Undermine Journal (TUJ) for a comprehensive valuation for your item on your realm!

Don’t Neglect Your Professions:

The Darkmoon Faire also has profession quests. Although these have a blue quest marker, these are not dailies; instead, these can only be completed once per Darkmoon Faire visit. However, it would be best not to ignore these because they give you five skill points towards your profession

These quests are ideal if you’re five points away from maxing your profession!

In Other News:

This week, I also completed my BoE Recipe groups. This project took me over seven days to complete and has information on every BoE recipe you can buy and sell on the Auction House. If you’ve ever considered getting involved within the BoE Recipe market, then check out my blog post here. It covers every profession and vendor BoE recipe.

I have created TSM groups that may be of interest to you, these do not have operations, and you can make changes however you wish. Be sure to backup your TSM Profile before importing.

If this is of interest to you, check out my blog post here.

Replica Transmog Market

First off, may I take this opportunity to wish all my readers a Happy New Year! Here’s hoping wherever you are that 2021 is a prosperous and safe one IRL and in-game for us all. Today’s blog post is my first gold-making post since an impromptu break due to IRL issues. As the Darkmoon Faire is in town this week, I felt it was beneficial to post this today for you all.

Today I’ll discuss the benefits of completing quests and other objectives to earn Darkmoon Tickets. Once we’ve obtained enough Darkmoon Tickets, we can consider purchasing Replica Transmog. Alternatively, buying Companion Pets if you don’t meet the level requirements to purchase Replica Transmog.

Earning Darkmoon Tickets:

According to the Wowhead Guide by Gamermoosh (Darkmoon Faire Made Easy), you can obtain 286 Darkmoon Tickets per Month if you complete every task (including the daily tasks). If you’ve not completed Silas’ Secret Stash quest, then you can earn an extra 100 Darkmoon TicketsRemember, you can only complete this quest once!

While this guide is currently outdated it’s still in my opinion the best guide on Wowhead regarding the Darkmoon Faire. Please do follow the link and add some feedback if it helped you too. I’m sure the author will update his guide soon.

Darkmoon Artifacts:

The easiest method to obtain Darkmoon Tickets is earning Darkmoon Artifacts by completing content while carrying a Darkmoon Adventurer’s Guide in your inventory. Alternatively you can purchase the Artifacts from the Auction House. Because I don’t do a great deal of content myself, I struggle to earn my Artifacts, so I opt to buy them from the Auction House. These can vary between 100g to 1500g per Artifact depending on when you look to purchase them. Ideally, purchase them a few weeks before the Darkmoon Faire comes to town!

Full List of Darkmoon Artifacts.

What Replica Transmog to Purchase?

I’ve always used TheUndermineJournal and would still recommend it to others. Access the site and input your region and realm. In the search bar, add the term, Replica. This search will return you a list of all the Replica items on your realm with their;

  • Availability
  • Current Price
  • Mean Price
  • Last seen

On my realm, the current Price is between 30k to 40k per piece. Remember to consider that each realm has its own valuation; this is why it’s imperative to correctly input your region and realm.

Here’s a graph from TheUnderminJournal illustrating the differing valuations per realm for the Replica Beastmaster’s Cap. 17.5k the cheapest and

Resetting Replica Transmog:

On some occasions, you will find some realms sell Replica Transmog for as little as 5k to 15k each. If someone has earned those Artifacts or completed the events and obtained their Darkmoon Tickets without any gold invested, 5k may be sufficient for them. If you feel that you can reset the market and get better value for the piece(s), it’s worth considering.

Always check the availability column for the piece on TheUndermineJournal. If you feel that 5k is a reasonable valuation for your item, feel free to post it at that price point too. I’ve purchased items as high as 15k myself and successfully flipped it between 40k-75k. Only do this if you’re confident you can make that profit margin.

Alternative to purchasing Replica Trasnsmog:

As mentioned at the beginning of my post, if you do not meet the level requirements to purchase Replica Transmog, please consider purchasing Companion Pets from Lhara. These have no level requirements, and once learned and caged, you can sell these at the Auction House

Darkmoon Tonk and Darkmoon Zeppelin are the best valued Pets on my realm at approximately 15k each at level 1. I’ve added a complete list of Companion Pets below for you to consider before purchasing.

My Recent Replica Transmog Sales:

Here’s an image outlining my Replica Transmog sales since the release of Shadowlands on 23.11.2020. The profit margin is great, but the amount of sales are lower than usual, but this could be due to the new expansion. I expect these to start picking up, as people get more time to work on the Auction House.

Conclusion:

As you can see, there’s definitely value in selling Replica Transmog. You have to remember that Transmog at the best of times is a slow market and this is no different, but when you get that sale it’s worth while. The only benefit to this market, is due to the restriction to the amount of Darkmoon Tickets any one player can earn per reset as mentioned earlier in this post. You could regard this as a soft cap of Replica Transmog that will become available each reset. Obviously, this cap can be extended if a gold-maker in this market has a considerable amount of alts, this will then bypass that soft cap.

If you want to participate in this market, attempt to get one of each piece, this will improve your chances of a sale. The vast size of your inventory the greater chance you’ll have an item of interest to a potential customer – resulting in a sale. It’s also imperative that you value your pieces appropriately, use TheUndermineJournal to work out the best price for your region and realm. I’m the only seller on my realm, hence why I can demand 40k-50k per piece.

Feedback:

I love the Replica Transmog market, and the significant profit margins it can bring. Are you in the market already? Maybe you’re apprehensive and undecided on whether to get involved. If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a line below, and I’ll get back to you at the earliest convenience. On the other hand, If you’ve been successful in this market, feel free to share your success stories below.

Thanks for reading, guys, and again I wish you all a very Happy and prosperous New Year! Here’s to a better 2021 – finger crossed!

Influx of Darkmoon Faire Quest Items

Hello guys, long time no see.

I just wanted to create a quick post today regarding a previous blog post The Darkmoon Faire Revisited. Basically because of the recent influx of Darkmoon Faire Quest Items due to the increased content brought to us by Battle for Azeroth or soon, Shadowlands.

Due to the increased content, PvP, Dungeons, Questing and the impending pre-patch and, a lot of returning players, it’s never been easier to obtain the quest items. If you have your  Darkmoon Adventurer’s Guide in your inventory, you have a chance to loot a Darkmoon Quest item. Because of this, the Auction House is flooded with items, which has dramatically decreased the value for these items.

High competition + increased supply = market crash

So please ignore the previous prices I was advising. I will edit those prices in that blog post immediately but wanted to clarify here first, why the need to change them. If you did follow those prices, then don’t be disheartened, as you can still turn those in and make gold from other markets.

You can buy up Darkmoon Faire Quest Items from the Auction House for approximately 100g-500g each (dependant of your realm’s economy) although this is lower than initially outlined, there’s still plenty of profit to be made! Buying up quest items, turn in, and buy Replica gear is still the best method. I’m selling gear at around the 40-75k mark EACH on many of my realms. There are even players barking in trade chat, selling full sets for crazy amounts of gold!

When you consider it costs me on average 1k-2.5k to buy all the Darkmoon Faire Quest Items you can easily turn all these into huge profits! This is hugely beneficial to do on ALTS too!

Please bear in mind, that SOME quest items do have level requirements to hand in successfully and you must be level 60 to purchase Replica Transmog.

So although the buying/flipping market for Darkmoon Faire Quest Items may be ruined (at the moment), there’s still plenty of room in other markets. Check out your realms economy/market via TheUndermineJournal and see if there’s value for you too!

Just a couple of Replica Transmog sales since the release of Battle for Azeroth, to offer you some confidence in this market! You can also enter #Replica #Transmog within the search bar on Twitter to see some of my sales, I’ve shared prior to the release of Battle for Azeroth!

The Secrets of The Darkmoon Faire (Revisited)

image

Since the Shadowlands pre-patch, this post is now outdated, please check my new page Darkmoon Faire for up-to-date information!

Hello to all my readers!

Today, I felt it was a good time, to revisit an old blog post, that needed updating: The Secrets of The Darkmoon Faire This was originally posted back in 2015, and I felt it was in need of some love. As with a lot of markets within World of Warcraft, they’re continually changing; especially prices and the demand for items! A lot of what I recommended back in 2015, has since altered over time and it’s only fair that I update those changes and offer some advice that may be profitable on the realm you play on!

It’s important to point out, that this is a guide that outlines what I do, if you wish to take this information on board and incorporate this on to your realm, be sure to use all the information available to you, to maximise your profit. Helpful websites/addons posted below, that can show current/average prices, realm populations etc. I use these, and they’re an important foundation to every Gold Makers success!

What is the Darkmoon Faire:

The Darkmoon Faire is a World Event that is only available to you for one week from the 1st Sunday of each month. To see if this event is available, open the Calendar in-game, and you’ll see when/if it’s available.

The Darkmoon Faire has a lot to offer, from completing profession dailies, (helping you increase your profession level), fun mini-games and some rare bosses to conquer, with some decent loot, i.e. the Darkmoon Rabbit as a reward (if you’re lucky!). Most of these tasks, reward you with  Darkmoon Prize Ticket which if used correctly, can purchase some profitable items, which you can sell on the Auction House.

Class Trials No Longer an Option!

Now it’s important to start by informing you, that Class Trial characters, can no longer access The Darkmoon Faire, so the exploit to farming Replica gear has been fixed. So what does this mean for us? Well, the over-saturated Replica market, will slowly dry up, as the demand outweighs the quantity available and has the potential to result in another rise in prices.

Alternatively, you have two options. Levelling Death Knight’s through the starting area, rinse & repeating as originally pointed out by Sheyrah & Xionik or creating an allied Race character which starts at level 20 (be aware, that you cannot hand in all quest items and buy Replica items – as these have a level requirement of level 60). Still, you can purchase Companion Pets/Battle Pets from Lhara or Darkmoon Faire cosmetic Transmog from Chester as there’s no level requirement.

Darkmoon Faire Quest Items:

Darkmoon Faire Quest Items, are the most essential items to loot (if you’re lucky). Be sure to have the  Darkmoon Adventurer’s Guide in your inventory! Now if you don’t have one, visit Selina Dourman who will give you one on completion of the quest The Darkmoon Faire. If you’ve lost it, she’ll also offer you a replacement. If the RNG Gods are against you, and you’re not fortunate enough to loot any/all of them, then you can purchase them from the Auction House, but do so before The Darkmoon Faire comes to Town. The prices sky-rocket to about *500g2000g each (dependant on realm population) I’d recommend buying them up mid-way through the month when it’s closed, where you can buy these up anywhere below the *500g mark as players try to clear their inventories. There are also great to flip!

(*) Denotes current changes to Darkmoon Faire Quest Item prices since the release of Battle for Azeroth. Check this blog post for a detailed explanation for the price changes.

With a lot of markets in World of Warcraft, these prices greatly depend on the size of the realm you play on, and supply and demand. High populated realms, tend to have a lot of these quest items; with increased competition, bring lower prices to the customer. Low populated realms, have lower competition that bring higher prices. To take advantage of all of this, buy your quest items when The Darkmoon Faire is closed! Once we turn all these quests in, we’re rewarded with some gold and 80  Darkmoon Prize Ticket!

Reminder: If you’re not exalted with The Darkmoon Faire, or max level be sure to hit that Carousel and activating War Mode before handing these quest items in, as you’ll receive an increase to your reputation and experience gain. War Mode can give you up to 30% extra experience gains. The % is dependant on whether you faction is outnumbered, the greater you’re outnumbered, the higher the % up to 30%.

Also: Be aware that you can only hand in one of each quest item per Month. There are 9 in total, which I’ve added below, including a TSM import string for your convenience.

Darkmoon Faire Quest Items:

Monstrous Egg (10  Darkmoon Prize Ticket)
Fallen Adventurer’s Journal (5  Darkmoon Prize Ticket)
Banner of the Fallen (5  Darkmoon Prize Ticket)
Captured Insignia (5  Darkmoon Prize Ticket)
Imbued Crystal (10  Darkmoon Prize Ticket)
Mysterious Grimoire (10  Darkmoon Prize Ticket)
Ornate Weapon (10  Darkmoon Prize Ticket)
Soothsayer’s Runes (15  Darkmoon Prize Ticket)
A Treatise on Strategy (10  Darkmoon Prize Ticket)

TSM Import String:

With this information we have 2 options;

  • loot/buy the quest items to earn  Darkmoon Prize Tickets, to purchase a range of items available from The Darkmoon Faire vendors (as outlined later)
  • loot/buy the quest items to flip at a later date when the demand for them is far greater (ideally, the first Saturday of the Month, before the Faire is about to open).

Silas’ Secret Stash Quest:

You can also earn  Darkmoon Prize Tickets, completing the quest Silas’ Secret Stash This is a treasure hunt, that can only be completed ONCE PER CHARACTER! To get this quest, either fish up 100  Darkmoon Daggermaw or purchase them from your local Auction House (you’ll need to pay approximately 25g-75g per  Darkmoon Daggermawthen purchase  Faded Treasure Map from Galissa Sundew.

A great Gold-maker called OldBess, who creates fantastic World of Warcraft Gold Making content within the community, has created a great video showing you how to complete this quest chain. Please do like, share his video if you found it helpful. Also, please do subscribe to him, as you will get updates on future content, thank you!

If you’re unsure whether your main or alt character has completed this quest, click the image below and copy and paste the script from Wowhead, be sure to upvote the comment to keep it at the top of the comment section.

DMF Silas' Script

Enter this script in to the ingame chat.

  • True = Quest completed.
  • False = Quest not completed.

An alternative to earn  Darkmoon Prize Ticket, is completing the Profession & Mini game dailies on Darkmoon Island; also not forgetting the two Pet Battles Jeremy Feasel & Christoph VonFeasel (which can be completed every day till the Faire closes!) and The Den Mother’s Demise!

Spending your Darkmoon Faire Tickets!

Now hit (C) to open your character info, and check out the currency tab, here it will show you how many tokens you’ve collected and have available to spend. Ideally, if the competition is low on your realm or prices are high, we will be looking at spending our tokens on Replica Transmog, but there are alternatives with Battle Pets if you prefer.

Replica Transmog:

Replica pieces can be very profitable to sell on the Auction House and are purchased from Barum & Baruma. If you wish, you can also purchase the Heirloom replica’s; these are available from Daenrand Dawncrest. For the Belts, Bracers, and Gloves, these items will cost you 50  Darkmoon Prize Ticket each, and for the Helm, Chest, Legs and Shoulder’s, these will set you back 75  Darkmoon Prize Ticket each! Be sure to use The Undermine Journal, to see what the most profitable piece is for your realm.

As a rough guide, the minimum you could sell one piece for is approximately 40k on a medium to low populated server. On a high populated server, anywhere around the 25k mark! Now, I know many of you will be sceptical, that’s only natural, so what better way to prove it by using our trusted friend Twitter! Head on over to Twitter, and in the search box, add the following #Replica #Transmog this will show you all the tweets tagged with Replica Transmog! The Tweets from the top, show you recent sales/activity, during Legion, and if you scroll down, you might be lucky to see sales from previous expansions, which will outline, how drastic the prices have changed over time/expansion.

To help with posting, or maybe buying the Replica gear for flipping, I’ve added below the links of the gear sets and a link to my Replica TSM Import string at my Pastebin for your convenience.

Replica Sets:

Please click HERE for my Replica Transmog TSM Import String.

Companion Pets/Battle Pets:

If you delve into the Battle Pet market like me, you’ll be interested in this section. Lhara is the Darkmoon Pet & Mount Vendor and sells a collection of pets that you can cage and uncage to sell on the Auction House. These pets can be bought for 90  Darkmoon Prize Tickets each and can sell at level 1 for approximately 10-15k each! You may wish to level them to 25, to gain that extra 5k-10k each. If there’s a pet of interest, be sure to check out wow-pets and see what the current average price for that given pet is for your realm, It’s a great source of information, if you dabble in the Battle Pet market.

Reminder: Be sure to kill the Darkmoon Rabbit too, this pet still sells for a nice amount if you manage to loot one. People are posting at 20k-30k, but I’ve been managing to buy them up to sell at 50k-60k still.

Again, for your convenience, you can find my Darkmoon Battle Pets TSM Import String from my pastebin HERE. This also includes, rare (and uncommon where possible) level 1 and 25 pet IDs and also the Darkmoon Rabbit IDs.

This is all the Darkmoon Faire stuff I deal in, but there’s an array of things, that you can do, that I’ve not even touched on. The best guide that I can recommend is from Wowhead, and it’s the one I use, when I need to do profession dailies on my alts, check it out HERE! Be sure to give it a rating and leave a comment if you found it helpful!

Many thanks for reading, I hope this updated guide, helps you understand a little more of what I do within this special event and the changes to the prices and improved emphasis on the importance of realm populations to maximise your profit, because, that’s what we’re all thriving to do as Gold Makers – make the most amount of gold as possible, with the least amount of effort/time.

If you have any questions, feel free to hit me up on Twitter, I will do my best to help where necessary. If you’d prefer, contact me and I will reply at the earliest convenience. Please consider sharing this post if you found it helpful. If you want to contribute towards the upkeep of the website and are in a financial position to donate, please check out my donation page for more information.

Until next time, take care!

The Secrets of the Darkmoon Faire

Many people within World of Warcraft will not be familliar with this strategy, but Ive been using it to my advantage for as long as I can remember and I have amassed atleast 45% of my gold balance from doing it. Now this is pretty limited, as you can only get the items during the the Darkmoon Faire.

Now, I can hear you asking, what is this big secret? well… it’s the opportunity to purchase Replica transmog items, from the vendor Baruma for a measly amount of Darkmoon Prize Tickets. The important part of this strategy, is to buy Darkmoon Quest Items, which Ive listed below this paragraph for you, once these are turned in, you will get a small amount of gold or experience (depending on your level) and more importantly the Darkmoon prize tickets. Do this on all your alts too, like I do. Remember, the tickets are BoP, but once you’ve bought your Replica transmog items, they’re BoE and tradable.

Darkmoon Quest Items:

Fallen Adventurer’s Journal

Captured Insignia

TSM import string:
71635,71636,71637,71638,71715,71716,71951,71952,71953

You can buy each of the quest items from the Auction House for as little as 10g and as much as 500g for the higher demand items, you may even prefer to farm them. If this is the case, check the links out on the items above and see where they drop from. Personally, I buy them off the Auction House about 2 weeks before the Darkmoon Faire comes, as they maybe cheaper, than when it’s in Town. It’s a small amount of gold compared to what you’ll make on the Replica transmog items you sell. Dont forget to do the daily’s in the area too, whether it’s profession daily’s or the game daily’s for extra tickets, every little helps…

Quest – Silas’ Secret Stash:
As well as the Darkmoon Quest items above, you can also complete a quest called Silas’ Secret Stash. This can only be completed once on any one character and doesn’t reset! This quest costs 100  Darkmoon Daggermaw and you can buy this quest from the vendor Galissa Sundew at co-ords [52.88]. Once you have started the quest, you’ll notice that you’ve been given a set of clues and some treasure to find.

I’ve added a video below, from a very good streamer called oldbess. He does many awesome videos, helping his viewers make gold in Warcraft. Be sure to leave some feedback and a like if you found his video on this quest helpful.

The Replica Gear:
Instead of posting links for every Replica item available, I will instead link every Replica set, you can go through the page to see the individual items. You will also notice the item it’s replicating.

Replica Sets:

If you’re confident that you can get these items cheaper on the Auction House, feel free to purchase them to flip. I can sell Replica gear between 20-30k at the moment, so I’m happy to buy at 10k to guarantee a healthy flip.

Sales:
Each item within each set will be worth considerably more than another, this is where you’ll have the task to check your Auction House and see what the prices are and then purchase the best item that will maximise your profit.  Below are a couple of screenshots I took today showing what sales you could make, by investing in a small amount of gold and a little time.
