The Warcraft Devs Listened!

Good afternoon guys, I was going to post this blog yesterday, but a number of things popped up that meant this post was slightly delayed, but have no fear, it comes with some epic news…

You Think You Do… And We Do Too!

As you’ve probably noticed already via Twitter, or in-game, the Warcraft Devs have listened to the pleas from the World of Warcraft community and have extended the ‘Winds of Wisdom‘ Buff. The buff will now be extended until the release of the Shadowlands pre-patch. You’d have read in my previous blog post, that Towelliee had hinted that the Devs may extend it if the COVID lockdown was extended, and given the friends he knows within Blizzard, I felt he maybe knew a little more than he was letting on.

Experience is Key, but so is Reputation…

Not only that, but the Devs also added another buff called, ‘Impressive Influence‘ until 18th May. As you’ll know, the ‘Winds of Wisdom‘ buff offers an experience gain of 100%, with the ‘Impressive Influence‘ buff, we also benefit from a reputation gain with factions within Legion and Battle for Azeroth expansion. Please be aware, that the Devs have excluded the Rajani and the Uldum Accord from the buff.

Below is an image from Wowhead outlining all the factions available for the buff.

I have been somewhat slack on the Rustbolt Resistance reputation, so this is great news for me. Mechagon had just been released prior to my IRL issues, so I missed a great deal of the new content and found myself considerably behind the curve (so to speak) once I returned. This will help me push for the Revered essences, although the materials may be a pain to gather.

The new reputation buff will be of great interest to players still seeking their mounts from the paragon chests within Legion. I still have a ton to collect, so when I’ve finally caught up with the Rustbolt Resistance, I’ll be heading over to complete the Legion World Quests

In Before The Crash…

Before I dash, I just wanted to add, that the Gold Making has been incredible the last couple of days. I’m unsure whether it was a result of the weekend (increased amount of players), or maybe people panicked to get their last 120’s over the line, in preperation for the XP buff which should’ve finished today. Thankfully, this news today, means this resurgence to the economy, will continue. However, I feel with more people getting involved in the markets, prices will sadly crash. This is evident with the Uncanny Gear, down to around the 800g1500g mark. Only a few weeks ago, those pieces of gear were bouncing out of the Auction House around the 10k15k mark. Best to make the most of it, before it all crashes…

Anyway, I’m off to Mechagon, until next time…

Why I’ve been inactive in Warcraft

Hi guys, long time no see…

Why I’ve been inactive…
You maybe wondering why I’ve been very quiet since just before Christmas. Well… many of you that know me well on Twitter will know that my 13 year old daughter was diagnosed a year ago with type 1 Diabetes and as such, midway through last year, I became her full time carer. My wife continues to work full-time, and is training to be a teaching assistant at the local college in her spare time. So the minimal time I had already playing World of Warcraft prior to all this, has become a lot more restrictive. This is due to a lot more changes within the family, more importantly, the decision to home-school our 3 children.

This was mainly forced on us, with the inability of my daughters school, to care for her diabetes. In their care it became apparent, that they weren’t getting her to monitor her bloods and she wasn’t eating her lunch when needed. When there’s an irregularity with her bloods, she tends to be very mischievous, which is unlike her and a sure sign that something isn’t right. She got a lot of detentions and misdemeanors due to her behaviour and after countless times informing them of the issues of an irregular blood reading, they still continue to unfairly reprimand her. As mentioned, this is completely unlike her, and is an obvious reaction to a low/high blood reading. It gave us no other option, but to consider home-schooling her. Siblings being siblings, when they heard one was getting home-schooled, they all wanted it, so we de-registered them as of the 5th January 2018.

Home-schooling has been a bit of a shock to the system for my wife and I if I was completely honest, but over the last Month, we’ve managed to find a lot of groups, classes and websites, that have helped us transition from school to home-schooling. We’re finally seeing the advantages of it. My daughters diabetes are well under control now and it’s great to see the children learning together, without the pressure of following the schools curriculum instead catering to what they want to learn! Both of my eldest daughters have already shown a great interest and ability in drawing (art) and will be looking to do something in that area when they’re 16. The classes, group and parts of the internet gives us a great platform to help them reach their goals if that’s the road they choose to go.

What I’ve Been Doing in Warcraft
Since Christmas, I’ve probably managed to log into Warcraft approximately 5-6 times, resetting some auctions. I’ve already seen a massive change in the Legion BoE market, to the point that the Auction Houses are absolutely saturated with them. Prices have dropped and my sales have come down, which is a true reflection of the saturation. Due to the inability to monitor my auctions and babysit the auction house, I’ve decided to drop a lot of the prices on my items in a bid to get some fast sales. Hopefully I can move a lot of my inventory in preparation for the release of Battle for Azeroth.

Battle Pets have been selling again, now that wow-pets.com is finally updating it’s data. I’ve seen some awesome sales and sadly a lot of pets have lost their values (i.e. Darkmoon Rabbit).

With the release of the pre-purchase of Battle for Azeroth, I have the hard task of trying to acquire as much gold as I can, with the minimal amount of time available to me. My option is to try and log in at least twice a week, and re-post my expired auctions. This will most likely be Thursday in a bid to take advantage of the Friday night sales. and then reset Saturday, to take advantage of the weekend players. This should be easier to manage.

I’ve only upgraded one of my accounts to Battle for Azeroth, as I’m unsure of the benefit of upgrading all of them. They will still be active as a lot of my inventory is spread out, to help reduce cancelling and re-posting times. However, it still takes approximately 6-8 hours to re-post all my expired auctions on all my realms…LOL

Anyway, I hope this quick explanation, explains a little of my current situation and what I’ve been up to. I’ll hopefully have a Warcraft update soon, letting you know how I’m doing on the gold making front. My current gold balance is sitting at 83.2m gold.

Until next time…

World of Warcraft’s New Expansion Leaked (Spoilers inside)

The internet’s gone crazy today, as it appears Blizzard have submitted a new trade mark in New Zealand, POSSIBLY for their new expansion; World of Warcraft – Battle of Azeroth. Many people are guessing it’s the new expansion, some think due to the New Zealand connection, maybe it’s the next part of the Warcraft movie… only time will tell!

A copy of the submission below:

new wow expansion

It’s important to remember, that this hasn’t been confirmed yet, this has only been found online and things will become more evident in the coming hours, with the start of BlizzCon. Thankfully I have my virtual ticket, so here’s hoping they release some info on the new expansion at 8pm GMT tonight!

Damn I’m really looking forward to this now…

Legion & Sales Update

We’re well into the second month of World of Warcraft‘s LegionLogo_lessglow
new expansion Legion and the early signs on social media and individual press releases, suggest this is the best selling expansion since Cataclysm, as subscriptions soar up to *10.1 million. The fact that the subscriptions haven’t tailed off yet, can only mean, that the advice the community gave developers has well and truly paid off! It might be too early to get too excited, but the signs do look very reassuring and probably prove, that Warcraft isn’t dead after all… Be prepared, as there’s another influx of new players as of today, with the release of Warcraft – The Beginning available on DvD.

On the gold making front, this has been by far the best start to an expansion I’ve experienced. Not only have I been prepared, but I think I’ve taken full advantage of a lot of players, that still hold a lot of gold, from Warlords of Garrisons…lol. I’ve managed to get myself into a lot of different markets too, which has reflected in the gold I’ve made to date. For me, Cooking, Leatherworking and Enchanting have been the best professions so far in this expansion, but an honourable mention to Jewelcrafting and Alchemy, thanks to the resurgence of prospect shuffling and the ability to obliterate. Sadly, the value in obliterating had subsided, but it was excellent whilst it lasted. However, it may make a decent return in 7.1, depending on how the developers manage crafted gear. Early reports suggest that developers are looking into adding another obliterum upgrade, but I very much doubt this will be enough to get the prices back up.

Old World crafts have been a massive profit too, especially within Enchanting & Leatherworking. The amount of Mists of Pandaria crafts I’ve made and sold is incredible. It’s fair to say Transmog has really taken off this expansion, thanks to the new Transmog Wardrobe. As well as MoP crafts, I’ve also made an absolute killing on the Replica market too! I’ve managed to sell on average 7 Replica items per week, which is a massive improvement from pre-Legion sales.

If I have one tip for you, get out and farm! Yes… FARM! There’s so much gold to be made from farming ore and herbs in Legion. Everyone needs materials for crafts, and consumables for raiding and at the beginning of every expansion/patch, materials are in high demand and can fetch a heavy price tag. So if you have a Herbalist or a Miner, go and farm till you hearts content and make an >insert expletive here< amount of gold…lol.

You’ll also notice from my previous blog, that, Ive been in the Legion BoE market too! This has been incredible to say the least! To be honest, I hardly got into this market, at the beginning of WoD, but I’m truly made up, that I took the big step into this market so early this time around. I’ve been doubling my investment on every item I’ve purchased and even started flipping the ilvl 850+. At the beginning of every expansion, there’s a lot of demand for BoE epics, due to the stats and ilvl they offer. This helps make levelling easier and quicker and also helps enter ilvl restricted Dungeons and raids. If you’re looking to level an alt etc, check your Auction House for these items, they’re an excellent addition to your gear if purchased at the right price!

To finish off, I’ve managed to endure the hard task of logging in to all of my alts, to get an update of my Total Gold Earned and I’ve added a couple of screenshots below. Please bare in mind, I play on 2 wow accounts, so added and labelled both. To date, my total gold earned is 58,585,540g

If you’re not aware of the addon Total Gold Earned, it’s an addon that adds all the gold earned from the Auction House on all your characters. This information is made available from your achievements. Simply log into the character you wish, enter /tge in chat to bring up the addon up in-game and it will automatically check your achievements and add your gold earned to the addon. Once you’ve logged in to all of your characters, you’ll have a grand total and voila, that is your total gold earned. Gold obtained via trades, are not included!

Thanks for reading guys and good luck!
