A Greedy Emissary:
A Greedy Emissary is one of two in-game World of Warcraft cross-over events to celebrate the impending launch of Diablo IV on the 6th of June, 2023. The following Event: Welcome to Sanctuary, will come later in June; click on the link to learn more about Welcome to Sanctuary!
Event Start & End:
The event, A Greedy Emissary, begins on the 25th of May, 2023, and will end on the 15th of June, 2023.
What to Expect:
Every 30 minutes, a portal will spawn in one of seven different zones. Don’t fret; there’s an order you can easily follow, which I’ll add in the next section. Check your map for the location once the portal has spawned (you must be within the zone).
You have 5 minutes to reach the portal before the Treasure Goblin spawns. You may experience lag, so get to the location quickly and spam your instant cast spells! Be warned; the Treasure Goblin hasn’t got a lot of health compared to the number of players attacking it.
Be aware of certain players that spawn Rubber Fishheads – I’ve added a handy macro below! Edit out <ranged spell> with your choice of spell, preferably an instant-cast spell. [SOURCE]
/tar treasure goblin
/script SetRaidTargetIcon(“target”, 1)
/cast <ranged spell>
I’d also urge you to consider turning off War Mode, even within Orgrimmar or Stormwind. Depending on the balance of your realm (connected realm), players of the opposite Faction will sneak in within your City to either earn a Treasure Goblin kill or pick off unsuspecting players!
On some of my characters, I’ve seen more Alliance players within Orgrimmar than Horde! Keep War Mode on if you’re prepared and want to defend your City!
Portal Locations:
As I mentioned above, there are seven different zones the portal will spawn at, thankfully in order. Below is the correct order; once you reach the bottom, rinse and repeat! Alternatively, if you’d prefer a weak aura, check out this one: https://wago.io/hkiSuFbCJ [SOURCE]
Disclaimer: I did not create this weak aura, be careful when importing due to potential malicious intent.
If you’re a multiboxer, be aware you could find the portals in different locations of a zone compared to other characters you’ve logged in elsewhere.

Loot:
If you’re not aware, the loot available is excellent! On the first kill on any character on a World of Warcraft account, you will receive a bonus chance of looting either the 36-slot Bag or the Mount.
Here’s a helpful command to see if you’ve killed the Treasure Goblin today! Enter this in the chat box in-game! /run print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(76215))
- False = Have not looted the Goblin today!
- True = Looted the Goblin already today!
For Gold-Makers, some Bind on Equip Transmog will become profitable once the event finishes! Importantly, if you’re a player waiting on Tyrael’s Charger, now’s your time! Below is a comprehensive list of all the loot available!

36-slot Bag:
Companion Pet:
- Baa’lial Soulstone awards the achievement: Little Lord of Lies.
This Companion Pet is unique (limited to one per player) and cannot be caged! If you’ve looted this pet already, offer to trade it to another player that was present for the Treasure Goblin kill.

Transmog (Bind on Equip):
I’ve added the current Median Values for each Region (according to Oribos Exchange) in brackets beside each item. Expect these values to increase once the event has finished!
