I just wanted to create a quick post today regarding a previous blog post The Darkmoon Faire Revisited. Basically because of the recent influx of Darkmoon Faire Quest Items due to the increased content brought to us by Battle for Azeroth or soon, Shadowlands.
Due to the increased content, PvP, Dungeons, Questing and the impending pre-patch and, a lot of returning players, it’s never been easier to obtain the quest items. If you have your Darkmoon Adventurer’s Guide in your inventory, you have a chance to loot a Darkmoon Quest item. Because of this, the Auction House is flooded with items, which has dramatically decreased the value for these items.
High competition + increased supply = market crash
So please ignore the previous prices I was advising. I will edit those prices in that blog post immediately but wanted to clarify here first, why the need to change them. If you did follow those prices, then don’t be disheartened, as you can still turn those in and make gold from other markets.
You can buy up Darkmoon Faire Quest Items from the Auction House for approximately 100g-500g each (dependant of your realm’s economy) although this is lower than initially outlined, there’s still plenty of profit to be made! Buying up quest items, turn in, and buy Replica gear is still the best method. I’m selling gear at around the 40-75k mark EACH on many of my realms. There are even players barking in trade chat, selling full sets for crazy amounts of gold!
When you consider it costs me on average 1k-2.5k to buy all the Darkmoon Faire Quest Items you can easily turn all these into huge profits! This is hugely beneficial to do on ALTS too!
Please bear in mind, that SOME quest items do have level requirements to hand in successfully and you must be level 60 to purchase Replica Transmog.
So although the buying/flipping market for Darkmoon Faire Quest Items may be ruined (at the moment), there’s still plenty of room in other markets. Check out your realms economy/market via TheUndermineJournal and see if there’s value for you too!
Just a couple of Replica Transmog sales since the release of Battle for Azeroth, to offer you some confidence in this market! You can also enter #Replica #Transmog within the search bar on Twitter to see some of my sales, I’ve shared prior to the release of Battle for Azeroth!
Since the Shadowlands pre-patch, this post is now outdated, please check my new page Darkmoon Faire for up-to-date information!
Hello to all my readers!
Today, I felt it was a good time, to revisit an old blog post, that needed updating: The Secrets of The Darkmoon Faire This was originally posted back in 2015, and I felt it was in need of some love. As with a lot of markets within World of Warcraft, they’re continually changing; especially prices and the demand for items! A lot of what I recommended back in 2015, has since altered over time and it’s only fair that I update those changes and offer some advice that may be profitable on the realm you play on!
It’s important to point out, that this is a guide that outlines what I do, if you wish to take this information on board and incorporate this on to your realm, be sure to use all the information available to you, to maximise your profit. Helpful websites/addons posted below, that can show current/average prices, realm populations etc. I use these, and they’re an important foundation to every Gold Makers success!
The Darkmoon Faire is a World Event that is only available to you for one week from the 1st Sunday of each month. To see if this event is available, open the Calendar in-game, and you’ll see when/if it’s available.
The Darkmoon Faire has a lot to offer, from completing profession dailies, (helping you increase your profession level), fun mini-games and some rare bosses to conquer, with some decent loot, i.e. the Darkmoon Rabbit as a reward (if you’re lucky!). Most of these tasks, reward you with Darkmoon Prize Ticketwhich if used correctly, can purchase some profitable items, which you can sell on the Auction House.
Class Trials No Longer an Option!
Now it’s important to start by informing you, that Class Trial characters, can no longer access The Darkmoon Faire, so the exploit to farming Replica gear has been fixed. So what does this mean for us? Well, the over-saturated Replica market, will slowly dry up, as the demand outweighs the quantity available and has the potential to result in another rise in prices.
Alternatively, you have two options. Levelling Death Knight’s through the starting area, rinse & repeating as originally pointed out by Sheyrah & Xionik or creating an allied Race character which starts at level 20(be aware, that you cannot hand in all quest items and buy Replica items – as these have a level requirement of level 60). Still, you can purchase Companion Pets/Battle Pets from Lhara or Darkmoon Faire cosmetic Transmog from Chester as there’s no level requirement.
Darkmoon Faire Quest Items:
Darkmoon Faire Quest Items, are the most essential items to loot (if you’re lucky). Be sure to have the Darkmoon Adventurer’s Guide in your inventory! Now if you don’t have one, visit Selina Dourman who will give you one on completion of the quest The Darkmoon Faire. If you’ve lost it, she’ll also offer you a replacement. If the RNG Gods are against you, and you’re not fortunate enough to loot any/all of them, then you can purchase them from the Auction House, but do so before The Darkmoon Faire comes to Town. The prices sky-rocket to about *500g–2000g each (dependant on realm population) I’d recommend buying them up mid-way through the month when it’s closed, where you can buy these up anywhere below the *500g mark as players try to clear their inventories. There are also great to flip!
(*) Denotes current changes to Darkmoon Faire Quest Item prices since the release of Battle for Azeroth. Check this blog post for a detailed explanation for the price changes.
With a lot of markets in World of Warcraft, these prices greatly depend on the size of the realm you play on, and supply and demand. High populated realms, tend to have a lot of these quest items; with increased competition, bring lower prices to the customer. Low populated realms, have lower competition that bring higher prices. To take advantage of all of this, buy your quest items when The Darkmoon Faire is closed! Once we turn all these quests in, we’re rewarded with some gold and 80 Darkmoon Prize Ticket!
Reminder: If you’re not exalted with The Darkmoon Faire, or max level be sure to hit that Carousel and activating War Mode before handing these quest items in, as you’ll receive an increase to your reputation and experience gain. War Mode can give you up to 30% extra experience gains. The % is dependant on whether you faction is outnumbered, the greater you’re outnumbered, the higher the % up to 30%.
Also: Be aware that you can only hand in one of each quest item per Month. There are 9 in total, which I’ve added below, including a TSM import string for your convenience.
loot/buy the quest items to earn Darkmoon Prize Tickets, to purchase a range of items available from The Darkmoon Faire vendors (as outlined later)
loot/buy the quest items to flip at a later date when the demand for them is far greater (ideally, the first Saturday of the Month, before the Faire is about to open).
A great Gold-maker called OldBess, who creates fantastic World of WarcraftGold Making content within the community, has created a great video showing you how to complete this quest chain. Please do like, share his video if you found it helpful. Also, please do subscribe to him, as you will get updates on future content, thank you!
If you’re unsure whether your main or alt character has completed this quest, click the image below and copy and paste the script from Wowhead, be sure to upvote the comment to keep it at the top of the comment section.
Now hit (C) to open your character info, and check out the currency tab, here it will show you how many tokens you’ve collected and have available to spend. Ideally, if the competition is low on your realm or prices are high, we will be looking at spending our tokens on Replica Transmog, but there are alternatives with Battle Pets if you prefer.
Replica Transmog:
Replica pieces can be very profitable to sell on the Auction House and are purchased from Barum & Baruma. If you wish, you can also purchase the Heirloom replica’s; these are available from Daenrand Dawncrest. For the Belts, Bracers, and Gloves, these items will cost you 50 Darkmoon Prize Ticketeach, and for the Helm, Chest, Legs and Shoulder’s, these will set you back 75 Darkmoon Prize Ticket each!Be sure to use The Undermine Journal, to see what the most profitable piece is for your realm.
As a rough guide, the minimum you could sell one piece for is approximately 40k on a medium to low populated server. On a high populated server, anywhere around the 25k mark! Now, I know many of you will be sceptical, that’s only natural, so what better way to prove it by using our trusted friend Twitter! Head on over to Twitter, and in the search box, add the following #Replica #Transmog this will show you all the tweets tagged with Replica Transmog! The Tweets from the top, show you recent sales/activity, during Legion, and if you scroll down, you might be lucky to see sales from previous expansions, which will outline, how drastic the prices have changed over time/expansion.
To help with posting, or maybe buying the Replica gear for flipping, I’ve added below the links of the gear sets and a link to my Replica TSM Import string at my Pastebin for your convenience.
Please click HEREfor my Replica Transmog TSM Import String.
Companion Pets/Battle Pets:
If you delve into the Battle Pet market like me, you’ll be interested in this section. Lhara is the Darkmoon Pet & Mount Vendor and sells a collection of pets that you can cage and uncage to sell on the Auction House. These pets can be bought for 90 Darkmoon Prize Tickets each and can sell at level 1 for approximately 10-15k each! You may wish to level them to 25, to gain that extra 5k-10k each. If there’s a pet of interest, be sure to check out wow-pets and see what the current average price for that given pet is for your realm, It’s a great source of information, if you dabble in the Battle Pet market.
Reminder: Be sure to kill the Darkmoon Rabbit too, this pet still sells for a nice amount if you manage to loot one. People are posting at 20k-30k, but I’ve been managing to buy them up to sell at 50k-60k still.
Again, for your convenience, you can find my Darkmoon Battle Pets TSM Import String from my pastebin HERE. This also includes, rare (and uncommon where possible) level 1 and 25 pet IDs and also the Darkmoon Rabbit IDs.
This is all the Darkmoon Faire stuff I deal in, but there’s an array of things, that you can do, that I’ve not even touched on. The best guide that I can recommend is from Wowhead, and it’s the one I use, when I need to do profession dailies on my alts, check it out HERE! Be sure to give it a rating and leave a comment if you found it helpful!
Many thanks for reading, I hope this updated guide, helps you understand a little more of what I do within this special event and the changes to the prices and improved emphasis on the importance of realm populations to maximise your profit, because, that’s what we’re all thriving to do as Gold Makers – make the most amount of gold as possible, with the least amount of effort/time.
If you have any questions, feel free to hit me up on Twitter, I will do my best to help where necessary. If you’d prefer, contact me and I will reply at the earliest convenience. Please consider sharing this post if you found it helpful. (23.03.21) This post is now outdated, Please check out my TSM Import List for an up-to-date version.
I’ve decided to remove all the previous outdated Battle Pet strings as this may lead to confusion and may conflict with future versions. As of today (05.10.17) this import string is complete, including level 1 and level 25 for every trade-able battle pet.
Like previous versions, I’ve split the string into two groups, as the complete group is far too large to import in to one import. The two groups are A-M and N-Z. These strings DO NOT include price strings, this is to prevent any potential issues. I also wouldn’t advise using price strings from someone else, as economies differ on different realms. My price strings are set to different realms and not based on an average like in the past. This is because wow-pets.com is no longer being updated.
Directions for use: One: Backup your TSM3 Two: Create a group in TSM addon called Battle Pets Three: Select the import/export tab and import A-M string! Four: Once you’ve imported it, enter /reloadui in chat to save your import Five: Once reloaded, reopen TSM and Import N-Z Six: Again /reloadui once more to save that import.
Here’s a screenshot of what the group should look like, once successfully imported and group layout expanded. If you do not follow the steps above, then you will have a group missing, or maybe pets missing, so please follow careful!
When you do a search on the AH, please be aware that scanning times may be very high, due to the sheer amount of Battle Pets you’re searching. If you’d prefer to use a different search method, I’d recommend entering this into the TSM AH search box; /Battle Pets/i25 for level 25’s and /Battle Pets/i1 for level 1’s. This is slightly quicker and just use your tooltip with your price strings, to evaluate whether to make a purchase. Please DM me on Twitter if you experience any issues, or you need some advice and I’ll get back to as soon as possible. This is the quickest method of contact!
Thank you to Sheyrah for the /reloadui tip, for updating TSM to prevent loss of data on multiple imports. Also a big thank you to Muffinsfor the Battle Pet ID’s for 7.3. Without these, this wouldn’t have been completed as quick! Muffin works within the TSM team, also known as TheOneOnDruryLane.
I’ve added their Twitter accounts, be sure to check them out!
Hello and long time no see to my avid readers oh and of course, my new ones 😉
Apologies for my absence, but you were warned…lol. As I guessed, time has indeed been very precious and with any free time available, I’ve been trying to play some of the new content… that is 7.3 – The Tomb of Sargaras and dominate the AH. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the new expansion and I’ve made a lot of gold in the process.
With the boring stuff out of the way, I have a little treat for you all, which you might be interested in. Today I bring you my import string for LegionBoEs. As you know, I’ve been buying and selling LegionBoEs throughout Legion and have made millions of gold doing so. If you don’t believe me, feel free to check out my Twitter posts via the hashtag #LegionBoEs and you’ll see a lot of my sales. I’m currently sitting at approximately 56m liquid gold and well over 100m worth of LegionBoEs in stock as of 21.08.17.
If you would like to use my import string, please click HERE and you’ll be directed to my Pastebin.
Disclaimer: Please also be aware, that this is not complete and its very unlikely that anyone has a complete list. Also, this list has been created with some item IDs from Muffins (aka @TheOneOnDruryLn) whom works within the TSM team. So many thanks to him for his hard work. If you would like to check his GitHub, for future item ID’s then here’s a link to his page HERE.
Directions for use: One: Backup your TSM3 Two: Open your TSM Addon in-game and create a group called Legion BoEs Three: Click on Import/Export Tab and Import the string Four: Once Imported, in the chat box, type /reloadui (This will update your TSM files).
Once you’ve followed those steps, you should have a group looking something like this;
Open up a specific ilvl (as shown above) to show 4 groups; Normal, Socket/Extra Stat, Leech and Leech & Socket. As this isn’t complete, some may not have four groups within, but you can update this at a later date. The 4 groups are straight forward to understand, but I will clarify below.
Normal = Normal item with no bonus stat or socket Socket/Extra Stat = An item which contains a socket, bonus stat or both Leech = Item contains Leech (Expensive) Leech + Socket = Leech and a socket (Very expensive)
Creating your Price Settings: You will need to decide what price settings you wish to add to each given group. Normal, will obviously be regarded as a low commodity, Socket/Extra Stat (i.e Speed) are useful, even just the socket alone is useful, due to the increase in your main stat. An item with Leech or Leech+Socket will demand a higher asking price, so set your prices to reflect this. Do this for every group and ilvl. Please also consider that realms have different economies and populations, so items hold different valuations, so you may need to change your price strings dependant to each realm.
For anyone questioning, why LegionBoEs are so expensive and in high demand, it’s simply because of the stats you get on the gear. With Legion, mobs scaled to your level, so if you’re lvl 101 with ilvl 830 you’ll be a 101 with stats of a 110 with ilvl 830, you’re easily out gearing the content for your level. This makes it viable for people to gear out a 101 (preferably a Boomkin) and boost players to 110 via dungeons. A lvl 101 ilvl 830 that know’s the dungeon, can easily boost four players to 110 and can make a lot of gold doing so. Obviously, you need to invest in the gear first, but the reward is amazing. If you don’t know Umren, then check out his video below, he’s running a Frost DK in this one, but it’s simply showing you what you can do. Frost DK is a good class, but I’d still recommend a Boomkin.
Important Reminder:TSM doesn’t recognise the different ilvls, so accounting wont show the correct purchase/sale data. This will have to be done manually by yourself. When you find an item, that isn’t within a group, simply go to the specific ilvl of your item within TSM, find the group that your item will belong to and select the import tab and as long as the item is in your inventory, it will show up in the ungrouped items, simply add it to your groups. The same strategy as importing level 25 BattlePets into TSM.
I’ve tried to add as much information as possible, apologies in advance if I’ve missed anything. I’ve credited everyone for their work, please drop by to them to show your appreciation, with their help, we get to do what we’re doing today!
That is all, if you have any issues, questions or need advice, I’ll try and help where possible. Any TSM issues, should always be taken to the TSM website. Copy any error codes you receive as they should help clarify your issues. Any other questions or advice, feel free to DM me on Twitter!
I’m sure a lot of you have noticed that a lot of players have taken a break from World of Warcraft. You can see this via the realm selection page upon logging in. This could be a magnitude of different things, mainly, waiting for 7.2 and the influx of big game titles recently released. But with that drop in players, come the joy of lack of competition on the Auction House and sadly, more importantly, a lack of customers willing to part their gold, for your items. That being said, I think it’s fair to say, there’s a dilemma at the moment, whether Legion 101 BoEs will continue to be as profitable as before.
No known release date has been set for 7.2 yet, but with any new patch, comes new content, via (World) Quests, Dungeons and Raids. This in-turn, brings another increase in the ilvl. With respect to Legion BoEs I think the current highest ilvl is currently at 880. With the new content, we could see an 885 or higher item. With this, it COULD bring the prices down. This is currently evident with Legion 110 BoEs, where people are only buying up 900+ ilvl BoEs, with items below 900 dropping dramatically. It’s important to remember that there’s more versatility in the 101 BoEs market and will likely hold a little more value, but it’s hard to imagine how much value. This is the dilemma, of knowing whether or not to invest.
What I’ve been doing as of late, is playing it extremely safe. If i see an item, very cheap, I’ll buy it up, but paying a lot more attention to the amount of that item currently on the AH. No point buying something, if you cant make a profit, more importantly, there’s no point buying it, if there’s another 5 (of the same ilvl) on the AH and you don’t have the intention to buy out your competition. If you read my previous blog, you’ll know I’ve been buying items at 50% value, knowing i can double my gold, now I’m looking at buying at 25% to minimize the risk.
I know a lot of you through Twitter, are playing the 101 BoE market and are having a lot of success through it, which is awesome! but I hope you can take something from this blog and be very cautious. I currently have a lot of 101 BoEs spread around different realms and it’s hard to imagine, that if there was a crash, how bad it would affect me. I’m sure it will have a larger affect on you guys than myself, but posting this blog, may offer a little warning.
On the upside and I’m thinking relatively optimistic here, 7.2 may bring a lot of players back wanting to level their alts, thanks to flying. If this is the case, the 101 BoE market may actually thrive, thus items holding their value or greater. The first couple of weeks into 7.2, should give us a good indication, on where we’re at.
Now do you see why this is a dilemma? Roll on 7.2!
If you’ve been under a rock since Legion dropped and don’t have any idea about Legion 101 BoEs, then check out my blog or check out my sales on Twitter under #LegionBoEs…
Good evening guys. Finally… yes finally, I think I have completed my Battle Pet Import Strings. Well, until the next patch comes out and more Battle Pets come into the game. Whilst every care was taken to create these groups and settings, if you do come across any errors that need my attention, please do contact me via Twitter and I’ll gladly help you out where necessary.
On this occasion I’ll be sharing three strings, two which have the Auction & shopping Operations included. These had to be split up, due to the size of the group. When you import these, make sure you /reloadui after the first import. This will write the info to your addon files and obviously refresh TSM. The other one, is without operations and easier to import. Simply copy the string you wish into your TSM3 which will benefit you the most. Please make sure you back up your TSM3 prior to importing, in the case of any potential issues/errors. If you do experience any issues, please do let me know on Twitter.
If you want to share these strings, please do so, but credit me where possible! I’ve spent a lot of time creating these and I always credit people their work I share, I would appreciate the same please. Please DO NOT sell these strings either, these are created to help others, not to profit from them.
Battle Pet Import String v.4 WITH Operations A-M
Battle Pet Import String v.4 WITH Operations N-Z
Battle Pet Import String v.4 WITHOUT Operations
Reminder:
Thanks to Peelyon, Super Squirt is on Sunday 12th Feb, so if you wish to power level any Battle Pets from 1 to 25 please follow his guide. Also, don’t forget he streams on Twitch too. He has a depth of knowledge on Battle Pets and making gold within Warcraft, so be sure to drop on by and check him out.
Many thanks for reading and hope you benefit from these strings. Until next time.
So, you may know by now, that I main a Hunter and since the release of 7.0.3 Blizzard were kind enough to restrict our camera distance, making it horrible to play if you suffer with motion sickness. Although I don’t suffer with motion sickness myself, I do however dislike the camera distance, as it restricts my surroundings. Using the below command, I can now extend my camera distance and again comfortably play my class and be more aware of my surroundings.
This is excellent for PvP etc…
In-game press enter to bring up your chat bar and copy and paste the command below and enter it and viola, you now have your camera distance extended.
/console CameraDistanceMaxFactor 2.6
There’s also a video regarding this on YouTube, feel free to drop on by and watch it and leave a sub and like if you found it informative and helpful.
If you’re not aware already, Peelyon has released a new video, with an updated strategy against the Garrison Menagerie daily, Squirt. With the changes to the Weebomination’s cleave it was imperative that a new strategy was created and with the collective information from members on Wowhead a solution was found. Peelyon now has a very nice strategy, that will give us a 100% success rate, but will also complete the fight a lot quicker than the previous strategy.
Remember, Squirt is only available once every 15 days from your garrison’s Menagerie and at this time, is the best way to power level your battle pet from level 1 to 25.
If you’d like to watch this strategy and see what battle pets you need, please do watch the video below and follow the directions very carefully!
As ever, please do show your appreciation and like and subscribe to his channel for future updates and videos. Peelyon has his own stream on Twitch and also streams on behalf of IcyVeins for their new Gold Making content. Give him a follow there too and get updates on when he streams next. You’ll see me within his chat too, as I moderate for him. My alias on Twitch is Grarand.
The 19th July US (July 20th for EU) has been confirmed the date of the Legion pre-patch release. For more news on this please click HERE for the full story via Wowhead.
Good evening guys, as you’ll be aware by now, Legion is on the horizon and many Enchanters including myself are stocking up our banks full of Enchanting materials ready for the new Tome of Illusions coming in Legion. If you’re near an Auction House, go and check how high the materials have already sky rocketed to! all this is due to the high demand. Most old world Enchanting materials are already at least 100% above normal asking price and that’s all down to people like myself, buying them all up.
If you’re not aware of what Tome of Illusions are, please click here to read my previous post regarding them.
As prices have become so high, I’ve looked back at alternative means to acquire my materials and thankfully, the memory bank kicked in and I remembered a very good way to acquire Large Brilliant Shard. These shards are needed to craft the Tome of Illusions: Azeroth .
As I’m Horde, I’ve hearthed to Orgrimmar in search of the Legacy Armor Quartermaster –First Sergeant Hola’mahi, in The Hall of Legends [38.72] She sells the Sergeant’s Cape for 55 Honor points. It’s important, that you purchase the correct cloak. What we do is buy up as many of these cloaks that we can fit into our bags and disenchant them. Each cloak will disenchant into 1x Large Brilliant Shard.
As the PvP season is coming to an end, what better way to spend those Honor Points, before they get converted to gold. So don’t wait any longer… If you don’t have any intentions of crafting the Tome’s in Legion, but you have Honor Points to spend and a disenchanter, do the method above and simply post the Large Brilliant Shard on the Auction House and take advantage of those that will be desperate for them.
This is a very old method and well known among gold goblins, I hope you found this post helpful. As ever, leave any feedback you have, below!
