Uncanny Gear (Blacksmithing)

With a couple of weeks until the release of Shadowlands Pre-patch, I thought it would be a great time to quickly jump back on the crafting bandwagon and give you some tips for crafting Uncanny gear via the profession: Blacksmithing.

With the expansion almost at an end, don’t be put off thinking the Uncanny gear isn’t worthwhile anymore, as you’d be wrong! It’s still selling extremely well, and with a couple of things to consider (outlined below), we can profit from players quickly levelling alts ready for the pre-patch.

Important: Make sure you have rank 3 recipes learned.

It’s imperative that you have rank 3 on all the Uncanny recipes it prevents us from losing gold in the long run. It will also reduce the amount of Expulsom required to craft an item. Expulsom is a problematic material to acquire and is necessary for every Uncanny craft and the best way to gather this is following Samadan’s bracer shuffle method. Please follow his directions precisely. Once we’ve collected all our Expulsom from scrapping the bracers, we can start to craft our Uncanny items.

It’s best to craft every item, so be sure to craft as many of each as you can. I have a minimum of 10 of each item posted on the Auction House. The reason being is my TSM has Ignore Variation unticked. The benefit to this is that we make sure we get the best value for the items with the best stats. If we have Ignore Variation ticked TSM will post all of our gear on the Auction House below the cheapest item, regardless of its stats, and we stand to lose gold on our best items. So be sure to untick Ignore Variation for the best results!

It’s worth bearing in mind, that once Shadowlands has released and dependant on scaling (due to level squish), Uncanny Gear shouldn’t be important, other than for the benefit of Transmog and only then, would I consider ticking the Ignore Variation. Stats won’t matter if someone is purchasing your gear purely for Transmog purposes. Remember to adapt as the game transitions to stay one step ahead of your competition.

Uncanny Armor
Uncanny Weapons
Uncanny Shields

With the Auction House throttle activated when you cancel auctions to repost, I’d recommend posting your Uncanny Gear at 12-hour or 24-hour intervals. This gives you the freedom to post more often without getting throttled. Many of my competitors post at 48-hours, so as long as I log in when my items expire, I can repost successfully, keeping my auctions at the cheapest.

I hope you enjoyed this post if you have any feedback, please use the comment section below or use the contact method on the right-hand sidebar via my email address. I will reply at the earliest convenience.

Ink Trader changes in Shadowlands

Today I thought I’d check out the BETA tab on Wowhead again, but this time, to check on the changes coming to the ink traders. One of the easiest shuffles in BFA was buying cheap Roseate Pigments and shuffling them for higher-priced Old World inks via the ink trader, as it was very profitable on low-medium populated realms. Upon the release of Shadowlands, the inks required to purchase Old World inks will change. Today’s blog post will delve into these changes and what it means to you if you’re like myself and shuffle inks to flip or use them for Old World crafts within Inscription.

It’s essential to begin by reminding you that this is information from Shadowlands BETA. The developers can and will make changes up until release, so please bear this in mind and check for future updates.

The ink needed to do the ink shuffle from the ink trader in Shadowlands is called Umbral Ink. To craft this, you will need three materials,

You will need one Umbral Ink to purchase one common ink, and you’ll need ten Umbral Inks to buy one uncommon ink, as highlighted below. As a kind reminder, when posting any uncommon inks to the Auction House, make sure your pricing reflects the cost of the ten Roseate Pigments. This can easily be forgotten and will lead to losses in potential profit.

Ink Trader Changes in Shadowlands - GrahransWoWGold

As with all new expansions and the influx of new items to craft, materials are going to be very costly due to the demand being more significant than the supply. As the weeks and months progress, the supply will slowly move in line with the demand, and the prices will fall to an acceptable rate. The problem is, Umbral Ink is a required material for 18 crafts, including Darkmoon Card of Death, Contracts, and Missives. Later in the first patch, will come the release of the new Raid: Castle Natharia, meaning Vantus Runes will become important too. Umbral Ink will be in high demand due to the Darkmoon Card, Contracts (to help players boost their reputations), and Missives (which adds stats to crafted gear).

The Darkmoon Card was very profitable at the start of BFA, and as history shows Darkmoon Trinkets during the first patch are normally best in slot trinkets, and will undoubtedly be again in Shadowlands. With all these crafts in mind, the Umbral Ink will have an importance in crafting, so we don’t want to use it shuffling inks. As with the current situation with Roseate Pigment in BFA, as the demand for Umbral Ink declines, the value will drop, and the need to find alternative methods to sell it/trade it will arrive and Umbral Ink will be at it’s cheapest value, as you see today with Roseate Pigment.

So our alternative is, if you need Old World inks, I suggest stockpiling the inks you need using the Roseate Pigment shuffle now, while the cheap pigments are there, trade the inks you need and store them in your bank. Be sure to trade them before the ink trader changes in Shadowlands, or you’ll be stuck with large quantities of Roseate Pigment, unless you need them for Legion crafts of course!

I have already done this method on all my characters that have Inscription. The one thing worth bearing in mind at this point is the increase in players leveling in different Old World zones. As you’ll know, you can now level in whatever zone you wish to level 50, and this means that Old World materials might start flooding the Auction House. Thus herbs and pigments currently in low supply may start increasing in supply in Shadowlands, bringing the crafting costs of previous inks cheaper than the cost of the Roseate Pigment shuffle. Currently, it’s not easy to ascertain how much of a difference leveling will have on Old World materials, but we must keep a close eye on it and adapt where necessary.

Any method of stockpiling before a new expansion is always a gamble, so please only participate in this, if you have the capital to risk it. The risk is minimal if you have a Scribe. Otherwise, always note the average price point at which you purchased your Roseate Pigment before Shadowlands and make sure you sell your Old World inks (that you traded) or Roseate Pigment at a profit to avoid any potential losses.

I hope this post highlights the new changes to the ink trader in Shadowlands and maybe opens some new markets for you, to make gold in World of Warcraft.

Thank you to Wowhead for the source of information within my blog post.

Feel free to share this blog post if you enjoyed this content, thanks for reading!

Profitable Profs (Part I) Enchanting

I’ve seen numerous Youtube videos over the past week from respectable GoldMakers regarding professions and how it’s an integral part of working the Auction House. With the extension of the [Winds of Wisdom] Buff for 100% experience, it’s never been a better time to churn out those crafted items for new players. If you’ve followed my blog, you’ll know a lot of my income comes from professions, none more so, than Enchanting. So today, I’ve decided to elaborate further on what I craft and why.

Enchanting

My main has been an Enchanter & Leatherworker since I first started playing the game back in Wrath of the Lich King, at this point I was raiding with a Horde Guild called Influx on Neptulon EU and enchanting was a very lucrative market back then and there were a lot of items you could enchant, unlike today! Thankfully, early reports suggest there will be a lot more items available to enchant upon the release of Shadowlands. Enchanting is an extremely versatile profession, in the case that disenchanting items not needed can net you a decent profit, by merely selling the materials straight on to the Auction House, or alternatively (in my case), craft important Enchants that can have a benefit to players.

Now I hear you ask, what’s the best enchants? Well given the current climate, leveling is a great place to start, so I’ve added a list of enchants below, that I’ve had a lot of success selling. This list will apply to players leveling, so these are great for applying to heirlooms. You’ll notice a lack of Mastery enchants, this is because Mastery doesn’t scale below the level 80.

Each item below is linked to Wowhead so you can check how it scales at a specific level.

Honorable Enchants…

These are Enchants that are used outside of Heirlooms that are worth mentioning. This is purely for players that wish to min/max their character’s stats or gathering ability. The items that these enchant to, will be replaced frequently, so personally, I don’t use these enchants, but others do. I’d suggest making one of each of these enchants and see how this market reacts to your realm.

Shoulder:
Enchant Shoulder – Boon of the Scavenger (Scavanged Cloth from Corpses (Legion))

Boots:
Enchant Boots – Minor Speed

Conclusion:

So there you have it, a list of Enchants I regularly post/sell on the Auction House aimed at players leveling new characters. If you fancy doing this market too, simply make a small amount, between 1-3 enchants of each enchant, and slowly increase your inventory, the more you sell. This way you don’t overstock and have greater amounts of those you sell often. As with all crafts, some sell quicker than others, some demand a greater price than others, trial and error, and of course patience is key.

Let me know how you get on or get in touch via Facebook or Twitter if you have any questions.

Best of luck…

Enchanting – Large Brilliant Shards

Large Brilliant ShardGood evening guys, as you’ll be aware by now, Legion is on the horizon and many Enchanters including myself are stocking up our banks full of Enchanting materials ready for the new Tome of Illusions coming in Legion. If you’re near an Auction House, go and check how high the materials have already sky rocketed to! all this is due to the high demand. Most old world Enchanting materials are already at least 100% above normal asking price and that’s all down to people like myself, buying them all up.

If you’re not aware of what Tome of Illusions are, please click here to read my previous post regarding them.

As prices have become so high, I’ve looked back at alternative means to acquire my materials and thankfully, the memory bank kicked in and I remembered a very good way to acquire  Large Brilliant Shard. These shards are needed to craft the  Tome of Illusions: Azeroth .

As I’m Horde, I’ve hearthed to Orgrimmar in search of the Legacy Armor Quartermaster – First Sergeant Hola’mahi, in The Hall of Legends [38.72] She sells the Sergeant’s Cape for 55 Honor points. It’s important, that you purchase the correct cloak. What we do is buy up as many of these cloaks that we can fit into our bags and disenchant them. Each cloak will disenchant into 1x  Large Brilliant Shard.

Large Brilliant Shard 2
As the PvP season is coming to an end, what better way to spend those Honor Points, before they get converted to gold. So don’t wait any longer… If you don’t have any intentions of crafting the Tome’s in Legion, but you have Honor Points to spend and a disenchanter, do the method above and simply post the  Large Brilliant Shard on the Auction House and take advantage of  those that will be desperate for them.

This is a very old method and well known among gold goblins, I hope you found this post helpful. As ever, leave any feedback you have, below!

Warlords of Draenor BiS Stage Gear

*** This Guide is now out of date, please do not use this, as the stats for all classes have now been changed in (7.0) Pre-Patch Legion. ***

Good morning guys, as promised in my previous post, here’s my Warlords of Draenor BiS Stage Gear – TSM3 Import Strings for Blacksmithing, Tailoring and Leatherworking. I currently don’t deal in Engineering weapons, Jewelcrafting rings and necklaces and Inscription weapons/trinkets due to them over flooded on my auction house, so these strings haven’t been added/created. However they could be created in the future if enough people want them.

May I first take this opportunity to first credit Sheyrah, to whom posted an incredible amount of information and uploaded the basic list to her pastebin. If it wasn’t for this, this would have taken a lot longer to create and manage. So thank you for sharing Sheyrah. If anyone has any aspirations in becoming a very good gold goblin, please do give Sheyrah and her partner Xionik a follow via their links below and check them out. They’re extremely good at what they do and boast to have earned well over 100 million gold.

To reassure you all on how I managed to make this accurate list, I used a website called Ask Mr. Robot to find out the best in slot (BiS) stats for any given class and spec. Once I had the stats noted down, I then went through Sheyrah’s list and carefully split up the BiS gear from the gear with random stats. Once this was complete, I then split the BiS gear up into their separate Stages from 1-6. Now when I hover over a crafted item, I can see whether or not it is of any value, thanks to my TSM tooltip set up.

Demand is extremely high at the moment, with no new content currently available and people are creating and levelling alts. This means high demand for crafted stage gear as it can be worn from level 90 to 100 and can be upgraded to a maximum Stage 6 – ilvl 705 (Weapon) or 715 (Armour) . I currently only upgrade to stage 4, to limit my expenses and make the most profit. This of course differs from your servers economy and what tactics you’d prefer to take.

Ideally, to make the most profit, it would be best to craft the items yourself, but this is time consuming and depends highly on the materials you have at your disposal. However, don’t be put off from making a decent return and buying the materials straight off the auction house. The tactic I use myself is a bit of both. The only thing I craft is the essences at the armour or weapons can be bought cheap.

Example:

Bought:
1x Supple Vest of the Deft (stage 1) – 1k
3x Burnished Essence – 5k (3k if I craft them myself)

Total – 6k (4k)

Sold:
1x Supple Vest of the Deft (Stage 4)  9-15k

Here’s my TSM Strings by Profession.

If you find any issues with this guide or want to add any feedback, please do drop a line below. If i do get enough interest I will invest some time to create those remaining strings. Currently I don’t need them myself, but would be happy to help others if they require them!

Again, please remember to give Sheyrah & Xionik a follow, their details can be found above and I can guarantee you wont regret it!

Thanks for reading guys and hope you found this guide a great help, feel free to post your sales in comment below or on my Social Media platforms!

Tome of Illusions

As we all know by now, we have the Wardrobe system coming to Legion, bringing us the freedom to swap in and out collected armour and weapons alternatively called Transmog which we’ve collected on our travels. A new direction from the developers, is the introduction of the Tome of Illusions, which will work via the wardrobe system too, but will give us the freedom to add an appropriate enchant effect to our weapons and change it when we desire. You’ll know that we already have this opportunity for illusions already, via the Enchanter’s building in our Garrisons in Warlords of Draenor, sadly, these are not permanent, but those in Legion will be!

The Tome of Illusions will be created by Enchanters, using materials from the region that matches the illusion you desire. For instance, if you wanted the Tome of Northrend, you’d need to acquire the materials that would be gathered within Northrend or the Wrath of the Lich king expansion.  I will add below, each Tome and the materials needed to craft each one.

If you want any advice, start buying up these materials from the Auction House NOW! People are clearing out banks, guild banks, ready to start preparing for Legion and that normally involves materials that people find are not wanted anymore. We need to take advantage of these cheap sales and stock these items up so we can get an early push once Legion is released.

IMPORTANT: Please be aware that the developers can change anything at any given time and this is information collected from Alpha testing and Wowhead. To see the original Wowhead page for all the information above for these Tome of Illusions, then please click HERE.

TSM3 Import String

I suggest creating a new TSM Profile to limit any chance of ruining any groups you may have created already. If you’re not a TSM3 subscriber, then I also urge you to backup your TSM. This is automatic if you’re a subscriber.

Vision Dust Shuffle

Important: Due to changes in Legion (7.3.5) Vision Dust was removed from the game, thus changing the materials gained from this shuffle. Vision Dust has now been depreciated and this guide is no longer beneficial.

In today’s guide, we’re going to be showing you how to Craft a  White Bandit Mask so we can disenchant it for  Vision Dust. This is known as the Vision Dust shuffle. A profession shuffle is crafting an item, to maximize materials by either disenchanting, prospecting it, or selling the craft to a vendor for a profit.

Professions needed: Tailoring (215) and Enchanting (125).

You will need a Tailor with the recipe, Pattern: White bandit Mask. This pattern has a very low drop rate, so you might be better off searching the Auction House for it. If you have time on your hands, and you wish to farm it instead, then feel free to click here to see where it drops.

The materials needed to craft 1x  White Bandit Mask;

1x Bolt of Mageweave (4x  Mageweave Cloth)
1x Bleach
1x Heavy Silken Thread

Once you’re happy with the amount crafted, use your Enchanter to disenchant the masks. Below I’ve added the possible materials you can gain from disenchanting 1x  White Bandit Mask.

You can either sell the  Vision Dust on the Auction House to make an instant profit or use it for crafting, which will make a profit in the future.

If you enjoyed this guide and want to venture into other profession shuffle techniques, then head on over to my Alchemy, and Jewelcrafting shuffle categories for more guides. As ever, if you have any questions or some feedback, feel free to post below and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Fishing up the Sea Turtle via the Naval Missions

Yes… you read the title of this blog correctly, it’s possible to fish up the Sea Turtle via your Naval Missions. Simply attach a  Tuskarr Fishing Net to your ships and if you’re lucky, you may fish it up without the need to literally fish it up yourself.

sea turtle via naval missions

I’d suggest placing the Tuskarr Fishing Net on your Transport Ship, one that you’d send out on Oil Missions. You can purchase the nets for 500 Garrison Resources and they’re available from Kronk Rustspark, Frostfire Ridge or Salty Jorren, Shadowmoon Valley.

If you dont have the Tuskarr fishing net unlocked yet, then you must complete the reputation requirement, to buy this recipe from the vendor. If you’re Alliance, you must earn Honored reputation with the Hand of the Prophet. For Horde players, you must earn Honored reputation with the Vol’jin’s Headhunters. The recipe will cost you 500g.

Let me know if you’ve been successful to fish this up via the above method.

Easy Gold with Feast of Winter Veil (6.2.3)

Disclaimer: I do not take any credit for this guide, this is the work of UmrenTV which I was fortunate enough to come across via YouTube. I’m just sharing what seems to be an extremely good guide.

Gaudy Winter Veil Sweater shuffle. A profession shuffle is crafting an item, to maximise materials from either disenchanting, prospecting or by selling the craft to a vendor for a profit.

This is only available during Feast of Winter Veil.

If you have level 1 Enchanting and some starting gold, it appears you can make a lot of gold purchasing  Gaudy Winter Veil Sweater which disenchants into either 1  Strange Dust or 1  Lesser Magic Essence. Just fill your bags with the sweaters and disenchant them and depending on your realms Auction House, you can make a lot of easy gold.

The sweater costs 22 copper and on average, 1   Strange Dust on my realm goes for 42 silver. So massive profits to be made.

Here’s a macro, kindly added by UmrenTV;

The Macro:
/run BuyMerchantItem(7)
/cast Disenchant
/use Gaudy Winter Veil Sweater

Here’s a video he posted on YouTube, if you wish to see how it all works. Be sure to drop him a like and sub, if you found his video helpful!

Thanks for reading and Merry Christmas!

Draenic Philosopher’s Stone Shuffle

Welcome to my Draenic Philosopher’s Stone shuffle guide. Here I will try and advise you on how to make some guarenteed profit by following this easy step by step guide. A profession shuffle is crafting an item, to maximise materials from either disenchanting, prospecting it or by selling the craft to a vendor for a profit.

Let’s get started!

Item: Draenic Philosopher’s Stone

First off, make sure you have the ability to craft this item. If not, you can simply purchase the recipe from Albert de Hyde or Joshua Alvarez (Horde) or Katherine Joplin or Mary Kearie (Alliance) for one  Secrets of Draenor Alchemy. You can craft one of these once per day, via your profession.

Mats:
 Alchemical Catalyst x5
 True Iron Ore x1

You can either craft these items yourself, or simply purchase them from the Auction House. Remember, when purchasing materials from the Auction House, the price you pay for each item, will reflect on your prfoit at the end of the shuffle, so always bear that in mind.

The  Draenic Philosopher’s Stone sells for 25g 31s 47c each and there’s no crafting limit. As long as the mats cost for example 20g in total, we set to make just over 5g in profit. So you’re probably thinking, is that it, 5g! Well… imagine buying enough mats to craft 1000x Draenic Philosopher’s Stone, like I currently have in my inventory. Now that 5g doesn’t look too bad now, does it? as this would total 5.000g once crafted and sold to a vendor.

There are many other profession shuffles in Jewelcrafting, Enchanting and Tailoring, simply find the one that makes the most profit for you. Check out my future guides for tips and tricks.
